nice red-black color with fastly disapearing head, caramel-malty aromas with chocolate, liquor and some vanilla, low-medium CO2, the mouthfeel lasts for a short time, the caramel sticky feel stays.

Deep dark red pour, almost no head. Aroma of dark dried fruit, raisin, prunes, caramel, basement aromas and sherry. Taste is intense and sweet, but the lenght and mouthfeel disappoints. Heavy on the sweet side. I’m getting some licorice, raisin, bubblegum and malts.

UPDATED: APR 25, 2013 this beer has almost no head, the body is black. the aroma is ok: it’s a little bit flowery, sweet and caramel. taste is also caramel and sweet.

Black with light brown foam head, small lacing. Aroma is sweet, some toffee, some coffee. Taste is little sweet, but more low bitter cold coffee, some barley. Banana? Aftertaste is short. bitter, dry. (Budapest 201302)

Flaske 0,33l spandert av Rune og delt under rateseanse i WCveien 4 Okt 12. Ultradyprřd. Filmtynt skum med litt farge. Veldig god sviske-/rosinaroma. Sherryaktig. Balansert. Komplekst. Smak av mřrke bćr. Banan. Sjokolade. You name it. Veldig bra. Overraskelse.

0.33l bottle. Very dark ruby/black body with a quickly disappearing brown head. Caramel, cherries and reisins in the aroma. Some roastiness and dark fruits in the flavor. Warming alcohol, medium body. It’s like a baltic porter. Decent beer.

330ml bottle with a black neck bought at Csak á Jó Sör in Budapest. Shared with Finn back home at a drinking session. Tiny, fawn-coloured head. The body appearance is black assisted by a deep, ruby shade. Distant roastiness to a vinous kind of aroma, rather dry. Comprehensive taste profile containing black berries, dark malts, wood and anise overlaid by a cherry component. Not overly sweet ending. Balanced and full bodied. Hidden alcohol. Nice, little sipper (Tromsř, 04.10.2012).

Black colour with small greyish tan head.
Strong alcohol (not necessarily in a bad way), vinous notes and malt in aroma.
Flavour is quite straight forward with alcohol, dark malt (almost roasted) and sugary sweetness. Some liquorice dryness in aftertaste. I liked the bilberry version (Szent András Könnye) much more. But this is definitely quite decent for a Doppelbock. Quite thin for a one though.

Black body, very small head.
Aroma of sweet roasted malt, vinous berries and alcohol. Quite thin and watery and way too much alcohol. Bit roasted aftertaste. The bilberry version is way much better.
