A budapesti Főzdefeszten ittam csapolva. Méltó a hírnevéhez...

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 judasbeer (431) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAR 14, 2009
Deep black with coffee brown tanned, creamy head with relatively good retention. Sweet roasted coffee, caramel aroma with some cherries. The roasted coffee like dryness well balanced with sweet toffee, caramel sweetness. Alcoholic, warming finish, reminds me of cherry liqueur, with long roasted aftertaste. Full bodied, smooth texture, fizzy carbonation. More brew at this kind of level from this brewery would make me a proud hungarian beer fan.

Bottled(330ml). -face to face trade on II. Cseh Sörfesztivál Budapest with armando629, thanks!
Black coloured, medium sized beige head that went away fast, quite fizzy, vinous coffee nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and strong licorice taste with notes of dried fruits and alcohol. Slight alcoholic and sweet finish. Very smooth and drinkable for 9%, overall really good and enjoyable Hungarian beer.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2010 Hard attack from Hungary! Unique beer from the boring hungarian beer market! I am an exultant about that beer. And the character is nice! Refermented in the bottle...Strong appearance with a good dark body, small but fine beige head. Powerfull aroma with roasted malt, coffee, dried fruits like plum, raisins. The flavor and the body is complex with the taste of coffe, plum, roasted malt. Hard and good attack from the southern region of Hungary, from the hungarian lowland and the bank of the river Körös! Go to the city of Szarvas and Békésszentandrás or OnlyRarebeers in Budapest to take a battle with this beer! Best hungarian beer what i’ve ever tried

33cl bottle from Békésszentandrás. Very smelly beer, for me rotten banana and dark chocolate. :) But summary is good. Light CO2, only for joy. Rather sweet than bitter, a good black beer taste, but more complex with coffee, caramel, cherry, roasty. Alcohol can feel only 1-2 times, so it is tricky. For this price (1 euro in brewery) it is the best choice of beer in Hungary, but you can buy in a few store!

Bottle from Csakajosor.hu. Poured dark brown, almost black with a tan, lacing head. Fruity aroma of plum, red grapes, dark chocolate, coffee, and some earthy aftertaste. Medium dense oily body with decent, matching carbonation. Alcohol well hidden, overall a well balanced beer. Surprisingly good for the Hungarian region. Congratulations for breaking the ice, and keep them coming!

0.33 l bottle from Csak a jo sor, Budapest. Almost black color with small beige head. Aroma of plums, caramel. Taste, chocolate, caramel, raisins in rum, coffee hints. Alcohol is strongly present. Very nice beer, I can hardly believe that is from Hungary.

Bottled, thanks armando629! Ruby/black, small head. Grainy licorice aroma. Very dry with sake-like delicate grainy salmiak flavour. Surprisingly crisp and light bodied, low bitterness. Incredinly drinkable for a 9% beer, where did the alcohol go? Very unusual beer, but also very enjoyable.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 heavy (1956) - Split, CROATIA - JUL 9, 2009
4/7 0.33 l bottle courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks a lot for sharing! It poured dark brown, almost black body with smaller, short living brownish head. Nice sweetish caramel, chocolate, coffee and spicy aroma. Very nice flavor as well, caramel, chocolate, roasted sugar and coffee shows up again. Some licorice, raising and maybe wood adds up to its complexity. It has a bit of stout character, but it’s sweeter and smoother. Not too full in body, but tasty and alcohol was hidden pretty well. Long, just a bit warming chocolate aftertaste deservedly leaves the great impression on the beer. This is by far the best Hungarian beer I’ve tried! After many crappy beers, didn’t even expect something so extraordinary.
