0.5 l bottle bought at the 4th Főzdefeszt. (Also tasted on tap at Főzdefeszt., did not like it, but this rating is about the botled version.) Starts with fairly thick head, quickly vanishes. Aroma is sour. Palate is way to carbonated for me. Taste is more on the bitter side, with some malt detectable. Somehow there is a medicine-like bitterness in this beer I did not like at all. It dominates the aftertaste as well. Will not be my favourite.

Aranyló szín dús fehér hab. Illata édes er?teljesen malátás, lehetnyien komlós. Ízében könnyen kivehet? a komló karaktere frissít? üdít? enyhén száraz. Közepesen testes. Soha ne kelljen ennél rosszabb sört innom :)

Ittam már valamelyik feszten csapolva, akkor nem hagyott mély nyomot most üvegesen futok neki. Illata erősen malátás, édeskés a komló viszont száraz jegyeket hoz. Közepesen testes viszonylag domináns komlóssággal de nekem nem tetsző élesztős utóízzel. Tiszta erős sárga. Inkább németes vonalnak mondanám olyan Stigeles és bokos is csak több komlóval. Iható.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Grainy malty base, with straw like notes, lighter sweetness, and low bitterness. Not bad.

Bottle at Max’s courtesy of Blipp. Pours a clear golden body with thin white lacing. Aroma is skunky grains, pale malt and spice. Mouthfeel is thin with notes of pale, generic malt, light skunk/dirty corn flavor, cereal grains and spice.

Bottle shared in Hoboken - many thanks to Blipp. Pours clear, pale yellow with a frothy white head. The nose has some moist cereal grains, hay. Light to medium sweet flavor with grainy pale bread, light bitter hay, ripe lemon. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweet with pale, lightly doughy pale bread, mild bitter grains, hay. Fine.

50cl bottle @ home from Csak a Jó Sör, Budapest. Body is clear, golden yellow color, Head is small, fizzy, white, average lasting, good lacing. Nose is light malt, light caramel, Aroma is more malt, cereal, moderated hops, light fruits, hint of lime. Taste is medium sweet, medium hoppy bitter, hint of fruity sour. Finish is medium bitter-sweet with average duration, but more hoppy than a usual pilsener, light metallic sidetaste. Light body, thin texture, average carbonation. Easy to drink, very refreshing, decent pilsener, great one.

Ogre is one of my favourite Hungarian handcraft beers. it’s malty, it’s fresh and refreshing. it’s just hard to stop after 1-2 glasses. is this available on tap?

A really great tumble into the beer-gardens of Hungarian! Despite its medium alcohol-level (5.8%), this pilsener is a strong jump into a beer-party with the friends, and it’s really makes you thirsty for the next. One of the best Czech-style pilseners in Hungary.
