A really beautiful beer in its style: light body, completely ruled by the different incarnations of plum. At first, there is some nice, flowery-perfumey fresh fruit, but later the sweet dried plum notes become dominant. Perhaps the best lager-based fruit beer I’ve ever tasted.

Nem túl nagy, gyorsan elillanó hab, borostyán szín. Illata szilvás. Íze édes, szilva szörp szerű, a sört szinte egyáltalán nem érezni. Utóíze is a szilváról szól. Gyenge alkoholossága ellenére testes sör, mégis rendkívül frissítő ital.

En rigtig frugtřl, syrlig og meget lidt humle. Den er ikke helt ovre i de belgiske, sĺ det er lidt en begynderřl i den genre.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting, as Szent András Plum Beer, from Prima Beer, Hobro. ABV is 3.7%. Orange colour, white head. Aroma of plums and marzipan / almond essence. The flavour has a nice fruity acidity, fairly sweet, hints of marzipan / almonds, hardly any bitterness.

Shared bottle at local nautical tasting. Pours almost clear Golden, no head. Aroma of almond extract and deep red ripe plums. Taste is cloyingly sweet, loaded with sweet plums and marzipan, more like a fruit wine really .

Shared bottle at RB/HB on board Fridtjofen 26.01.16. Clear golden. Strong aroma of bitter marzipan and almonds. Refreshing taste, with plums and marzipan and a slight sourness. Quite refreshing!

50cl bottle from somewhere in Budapest. So, why do you put plum concentrate in a lager? I mean why? What is the point? Is it that the lager is too dull to care? Or maybe plum concentrate begs to be diluted with alcohol? Is it like adding cherry concentrate to porridge? Oh, no, sorry, we don’t do that. It smells of plum concentrate. It tastes of plum concentrate with non-specific lager put in it. What more is to tell? If you need a drink that sits somewhere on the route from undistinguished lager to canned fruit this is a beer for you.
