2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Overwhelming sticky-sweet cough drop cherry bomb. No beer aroma to speak of. Quite boozy and thick, but not mercifully low-carbonated. Didn't taste outright offensive, just not very beer-ish. No more for me, thanks.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle (This beer is produced by Martens for Tokuoka Co, Ltd., which operates the "Marche" chain of stores in Japan.) Cherry cough drop aroma. Light tropical fruit juice red color. Mild cherry juice initial / mid goes a bit tart / finish is cough medicine and a final hit or the lousy spirits that they throw into the mix. Thin and somewhat astringent. A weird collection of ingredients. It seems not to be brewed but simply poured together. Still, it isn’t completely horrible. The fruit notes mask the normal happoshu crudeness.
