BEL PILS is one of the most traditional of pils beers, mainly on account of the high quality of the hops used, which give the beer a characteristic aroma and taste.

bluevegie (3051) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - SEP 2, 2006
250ml Stubby. Clear golden body with a frothy white head. Not too much in the aroma but hop notes after it warms a touch. Soft smooth taste, some lemon crispness after the malt notes, light in body, clean, simple but quite refreshing. A pity it was packaged in such a small bottle.

ALLOVATE (2353) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 30, 2006
Bottle, pilsner flute @ De’ Pub, Brugges Belgium.
Bright, yellowy gold, finely carbonated and donned by a rocky, loose white head of foam that drabbed froth down the glass. Clean, dry, spicy hop aroma that shows just a little ripe fruit and husky grain. Light, creamy and rather smooth in mouthfeel, avoiding becoming soapy even as it warms. Clean honey and gritty pale malt flavours across the palate are joined by a little sour malt and well defined, spicy and bitter grassy hops in back. Nice quenching bitter hop swallow that is clean, fresh and dry. This wasn’t bad at all. After a Haacht-Primus this was just the ticket to clean the palate and in the heat of the day went down with alarming speed. Light in body, balanced and nothing it shouldn’t be. Not bad.

Bart (2941) - Brussels, BELGIUM - JUL 21, 2006
Clear yellow coloured, some light carbonation with an average white head. Fruity and hoppy aroma, rather nice. Medium hoppy boddy. FInish is fruity, light bitter ending a little more dry. Rather good for a pilsener.

Papsoe (25089) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 16, 2005
(Bottle 25 cl) Pale golden with a rather pretty head. Not only a rather strong pilsener but also one of the more refined with an almost perfumy palate. Everything kept in balance by a good hop-bite. 200997
