4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 renffisch (642) - london, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 26, 2008
draught @ the white horse. smells of oat cookies. Looks stunning. Finely carbonated, clearest straw yellow, creamy perfectly white head. beautiful condition. Actually found myself staring at my pint, due to the lovely dance of teeny-weeny little bubbles which kept a lovely thick creamy head and resulted in a gorgeous lace round the glass as i drank it. Very delicate hoppy pils. very true, and excellent example of this style. all round and none of the ingredients stick out. just like it should be.

bottle, I bought a tank of bel pils for a birthdayparty. Great pils, well balanced, grainy, mild sweet, refreshing, mild bitterness, lemon, hoppy.

Van t’vat, Poatersgat, Brugge. What’s this?? Hoppy Belgian pils with distinct piney and garden herb noble hop character?? Nose pure Munich-like pale biscuity malt, CO2, conifer. LACY. Even at the end of a VERY heavy session on the Taras Boulba and Pannepot, the delicate hop and floury soft malt character cut through. Tasty and authentic (whisper it quietly) Belgian pils.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - AUG 28, 2003
Aroma of wort and light citrus. Golden color, good looking white head, very good lace. Sweet, malts, nice body, very light bitter, refreshing. Actually the second drinkable Belgian pilsener I ever had. The other one was Cristal Alken.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 MartinKubert (862) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 29, 2004
Quite citric, fruity, sour and malty aroma. Malty start and a quite pointy carbonation. Fruity middle. Some dryness in finish, bitter aftertaste.

Very good pilsener. This one is a good choice when you are in Belgium and you are allready tired of the strong ales and abbey beers.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 bluevegie (2926) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - SEP 2, 2006
250ml Stubby. Clear golden body with a frothy white head. Not too much in the aroma but hop notes after it warms a touch. Soft smooth taste, some lemon crispness after the malt notes, light in body, clean, simple but quite refreshing. A pity it was packaged in such a small bottle.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Papsoe (22948) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 16, 2005
(Bottle 25 cl) Pale golden with a rather pretty head. Not only a rather strong pilsener but also one of the more refined with an almost perfumy palate. Everything kept in balance by a good hop-bite. 200997
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (6725) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - AUG 30, 2003
Straw-coloured, crystal clear; huge thick white head, very stable. Faint bitter hopnose, flowery, grain. Very bitter head, concentrates the hopflavours very much - maybe some iron. Quite bitter pils, fine hopbitterness with a good maltbase with just some sweetness left. Light bodied, not fizzy. This is the proof that an industrial pilsener can be quite allright.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 bierkoning (8099) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - SEP 29, 2003
Slight vanilla aroma. Slightly hoppy vanilla flavor. Malty. Medium bodied. Well made pilsener with a fair deal of flavor.
