COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after California’s Highway 78, this India Pale Ale was brewed in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the city of Vista. With plenty of Galaxy, Falconer’s Flight, Southern Cross and just a tad bit of Nelson hops, our latest IPA is truly sessionable. Aroma’s include grapefruit, passionfruit, and citrus.

Can from The Bottle Shop London and drunk on a train. Big resin hop aroma. Bit classic American ipa. Some toffee and maybe some crystal malt sweetness. Some bitterness on the finish. Some abv on the finish. Certainly hoppy bit sweet.

March 15th, 2014 - Fresh from an unopened, one day old growler, I prepare for a road trip down a hoppy highway, pouring out the beer to great effect. A head blooms from the glass, reaching up and around the inside rim, while a tanned leather colored beer stirs like incoming fog, or a creeping marine layer. The aroma has a fresh marijuana smell, sticky and intense, with a pineapple sweetness to give an already sickly sweet scent just a glob more viscosity. The flavor is similar to the aroma, featuring much more of the 420 friendly taste, with a return of the pineapple, and a dollop of marshmallow cream. The palate is busy, but not overly so, supporting the weed taste. The aftertaste makes the beer more dry, with a bit of spice, which makes for a nice, crisp finish to an otherwise sticky, sweet brew.

I wasn't overly impressed with this beer. It has a weird citrus flavor from the fruit that doesn't quite work right for me. Not a lot of head. Just OK

A San Diego brewery needs a standard citrusy IPA on tap, and this one doesn’t disappoint. Delicious beer. Nice.

Light rusty orange, white head, good lacing. Nicely carbonated - adds some froth to the body. As advertised, you get grapefruit and passion fruit on the nose. Malts add a good base of chewy caramel, alcohol adds some orange peel. Very good.

Poured into a pint glass. 4.0 A: Moderately hazed light orange color. Two fingers of pillowy off-white head. Retention is very good and lots of lacing is left. 3.25 S: Surprisingly herbal with wildflowers and lemongrass. Smells almost like a saison. Dry citrus and peach underneath. Bready yeastiness and hints of caramel. 3.25 T: Tastes like it smells. Big herbal per above. Lots of peach, some lemon, hints of papaya. Again bready yeast and a like caramel maltiness. 3.25 M: Medium body. Chewy yeastiness. Mildly creamy and reasonably smooth. 3.0 D: I’m not a huge fan of herbal IPAs. It’s okay, just not my preference. ★ 642 characters DavoleBomb, Jun 10, 2015

Can from Beer Gonzo webshop, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at home Thursday 14th January 2016 Pours light mid light gold, light haziness a small white head. Crisp, clean grapefruit flavours, dry finish, trying to think what this reminds me of, perhaps Siren QIPA? I prefer this to the IPA. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Can, bb 9/16. Ooh, classy. Hazy pale amber with an inch of puffy white head. Aroma of passionfruit, mandarins, pineapple, grass. Very sweet with pineapple and mandains. No caramel but the pale malt is a bit flabby and unfocused. . Modearte bitterness that creeps up a bit with some herbal notes and some astringency. A bit fruit saladish for me but not bad.

Can at home. Aroma is tropical fruits, grapefruit, pine resin, peach, floral notes, citrus, some malt, hops. Flavour is light sweet with a bitter finish. Medium bodied. Intense juicy fruity, piney and a bit floral hoppy. Very rich ’fruits basket’ IPA.
