COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after California’s Highway 78, this India Pale Ale was brewed in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the city of Vista. With plenty of Galaxy, Falconer’s Flight, Southern Cross and just a tad bit of Nelson hops, our latest IPA is truly sessionable. Aroma’s include grapefruit, passionfruit, and citrus.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Light grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and pine flavor. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and pine linger with light malt.

bottle -didn’t seem particularly fresh, and I am usually a pretty big fan of theirs. Hops were there as described, but very subdued and "too" balanced...ie too malty.

Poured from a can. Golden with a frothy white head. Decent lacing. Citrusy aroma. Fruity taste with a bitter finish. Not great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aluminum can from Haggen: Poured a pure golden elixir liquid with a frothy foam cap that quickly retreated. Aroma is faint but does allow of a whiff of floral hops and also hay like smelling malts. Flavor is bland with a salty sea water taste and notes of hop that have faded in time. The codes on the cans state some weird numbers that only a representative of the distributor or brewery would be able to translate. Still taste like a good beer with notes of sour acidic hop pellets and solid backing of a hearty bread-like malts that still hold this IPA together despite hops that have aged past their prime. Bitter mouth taste that at times is puckering which makes this 78 IPA memorable. Will certainly favor this beer over some of the other expensive six-packs out there if the price is cheap like it was this time.

Sweaty citrus aroma. Had this poured from tap at Belching Beaver in San Diego. Yellow with white head. Basement dank taste. Bitter. Decent.

Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Hotel water glass From: Barons Market in Alpine, Calif. Price: $9.99 for a 6-pack Purchased: May 13, 2015 Consumed: May 14, 2015 Misc.: Born on March 12, 2015 Reviewing at the Courtyard Marriott in Culver City, Calif. Poured a honey, dark pale, hazy color with 4-to-5 fingers of frothy, white head. Could see some light bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Very nice layered, foamy lacing along the sides of the glass. Good retention. (Sight - 4.13) Smelled a whiff of malty hops up front, mainly Cascade, Galaxy and Citra, then spoiled fruit, herbal hops, light menthol, sugary nectarine, caramel and orange zest. (Smell - 3.75) Tasted similar to the nose with those Galaxy hops dominating. Also Cascade hops, boozy herbal hops, grassy malts, Citra hops, nectarine rind, orange zest and caramel. (Taste - 3.63) Medium body. Creamy-to-oily texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, boozy finish. (Feel - 3.50) I had this in a taster flight awhile back and gave it a 4. It was nowhere near that tonight. Still have five left unfortunately. (Overall - 3.63) 3.67 83 B

22 oz bottle. Bottled 07/15/2014. (El Cerrito Liquors) Corona, CA. Pours golden with a small white head. The aroma is earthy, malty and stoney. The flavour is earth, old hops, mild bitterness and stones. Like licking stones and eating leaves from the ground. I'm sorry... this is super un-fresh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled. Slightly hazy blond color with thick rocky head. Aroma is white peach, floral hops and pine. Really smooth flavor that goes down easy. Galaxy hops provide a unique flavor unlike most other San Diego IPAs. Mildly sweet with a drying finish. Crisp and clean. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Typical IPA grassy aroma, pretty bitter. Decent hop flavor. Generally pretty light body and good carbonation. I’d drink again.
