3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12th Jan 2014, shared at a Shrewsbury Bottle Exchange meeting: cheers Paolo for bringing this unusual and different brew. Bomber, split between five of us. Pours a typical Milk Stout colour and look: black with a tanned head. The nose however gives the game away somewhat as buttery esters tell you this is no ordinary Milk Stout. The aroma leads you into a taste that is also buttery, but with a strong vanilla flavour that overrides any chocolate or coffee notes that try to appear, the vanilla even held back the peanut flavouring. I quite enjoyed it but I could not have drank the whole bottle by myself.

Aroma is like no other beer, strong peanut butter, vanilla, hints of coffee and chocolate. Taste was the letdown for me, far too much lactose sweetness with minimal peanut butter showing through. Very easy to drink, might be a good intro to stouts

Bottled. Deep brown-black in color with a huge frothy chocolate colored head. Great appearance. Nose is chocolate, smoke, molasses, spice. Peanut butter is forward in the flavor with mild acidity and smoky dark chocolates throughout. Thin bodied, kind of reminds me of root beer. Cola-like character that I got tired of after first glass. Decent.

Bomber from trade poured in glass. MANY flavors here aroma of chocolate and vanilla also some lactose. Taste was of many things much vanilla much lactose and every once in awhile some peanut butter in the after taste. Waaaaay too much lactose sweetness in this. Still would like to find pb in a beer

Bottle: Poured a deep brown/black color stout with a medium size off-white foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of butterscotch and hazelnut with quite a bit of residual sugar is a bit surprising. Taste is also dominated by butterscotch notes with some hazelnut with quite a bit of residual sugar. Body is about average with good carbonation. A bit too sweet for my own taste and I could see the butterscotch notes becoming over the top if I was to drink too much of this beer.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Large shared bottle pours near black with a decent head.
The aroma and flavor both feature peanut butter, but not so much as to mask the dark malts. Lovely roasted malt + roasted peanuts flavor.
Very smooth, full body with acceptable light carbonation.

Poured from a bottle, San Diego. Hearty stout with ample sweetness and malty character. Like drinking a Nutter Butter if it was made with Smucker’s peanut butter and didn’t suck.

65 cl bottle @ wPBF III.
Pours black color with a small off-white head. Peanut is quite eminent on the nose, milky chocolate, cocoa and caramel. Flavor is quite sweet also, peanut, some creme brulee like notes, faint vanilla and faint coffee. Surprisingly rich for such low abv. Quite nice.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled at Petalax Beer Festival Black, small beige head. Peanut butter dominate the nose. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Milk chocolate and peanut butter. Low bitterness. Peanut butter may be the most infantile ingredient in beer since marshmallows, but this is actually pretty balanced and tolerable.
