Opaque dark brown beer, tiny tan head. Milky peanut butter nose. Palate is airy and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Taste largely follows the nose. Milky dark malts and tangy peanut butter. Undertone of mildly tangy fruits. Light semi dry finish. Fun beer!

On tap at Stone 17th anniversary party. Very dark brown body, tan head. Vanilla, roasted malts and chocolate, some peanut butter notes and coffee in the aroma. Hints of coffee in the flavor, with dark chocolate, peanut butter, vanilla and roasted malts. Full to medium body, sort of sweetish. Vanilla, dark chocolate and coffee in the end. Pretty nice this one. 130816

On tap @ Haven Gastropub. Nearly black in color with a tan head. Sweet peanut butter cups, chocolate, and lactose. Slight roasted malt, coffee, and cocoa powder. Flavor is sweet lactose and milk chocolate. Lots of peanut butter, some peanut butter shell/paper, and roasted malt. Hints of coffee and some bitter cocoa powder. Not bad, was hoping for a bit more.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate and peanut. Med body til the carb goes away. Flavor is peanut, chocolate, touch of coffee, dark malt. Not dry, but not very sweet. Peanut makes it a little towards earthy/dry. Interesting.

Keg at the Commons Alehouse, Santa Monica, 16/04/14. Pitch black with a moderate dirty tan covering that retains well. Nose is as the name - a solid peanut butter experience, light roast, chocolate, nut fuelled pangs. Taste comprises light roast, cocoa, more vanilla, nutty pangs, sweet licks. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sweet close. Ok fayre, a little too sweet for me but delivers some peanut butter goodness.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with brown head. Nose and taste of peanut butter cracker, toasted malt, lactose, milk sugar and light cocoa. A little too heavy on the milk sugar. Lighter medium body. Pretty good.

Bottle, a little lactose. Very dark brown with lots of lace. Drinkable, a sipper, novelty. The lactose itself should not be so bitter.

[ Tap ][ Belching Beaver ][ 5oz ][ Flute ][ $1-2 ][ 1/25/14 ]
>> Clear deep red pour with weak lacing. Nose is fairly nice peanut butter. Good flavor but tart and lighter body, ashy, some cola, lemon acid. Eh.
