Very dark black on the pour with a creamy brown head. Hints of peanut butter reminiscing of opening a bottle of Skippy and sweet honey. Taste of peanuts and coffee grounded together. Enough said! Great roasty flavor lingers. A Must!

650ml bottle. Black with large brown head. Peanut butter comes through in the aroma along with roasted malt and light fruit. Taste has it too. Biscuity hint on finish. Not too sweet. Quite high carbonation which does detract somewhat for me. Decent stout.

nice nose, sweet peanuts and chocolate. The taste is good at first but theres a bit of a lingering sourness to the beer on the backend. not a dealbreaker but turns a good beer into just an solid one.

Bottle shared with my son, who raved about this beer. I suspect that we had a bottled that may have been contaminated, because the first sip was welcomed by a very sharp metallic taste that masked any flavor a that followed. As the beer warmed, sharpness disapated leaving a very weak flavor of coco and peanut butter. I couldnít finish my 12oz. serving and it ended up be a drain pour! Maybe next time.

September 25th, 2013 - Belching Beaverís Peanut Butter Stout is slowly becoming their hallmark beer - the flagship carrying the brand. Whenever I walk by the brewery, there is invariably more than one pint of the stuff on the counters. And itís occupying more and more space on shelves. Beers like this tend to get picked up in two stages, and it is the second one thatís crucial for long-term success. First, thereís a wanton curiosity. Shoppers see the peanut butter stoutís label, chuckle to themselves, ask what the world is coming to, and buy a bottle. Ideally the consumer then finds that this beer - this oddity - isnít a prank, but a delicious beverage. And I believe BBís Peanut Butter Stout meets that second threshold. The smell is closer to hazelnut and mocha, with touches of toffee and pecan pie, rather than mashed generic peanut butter cups which is never a tasty as it sounds. Peanut butter is more articulately expressed in the taste, a slightly more dairy rich version of Reeseís peanut butter cups, but adding a coffee bitterness to balance out the peanut butter sweetness. Itís good and drinkable, past 1-2 pints, which is a sure sign of restraint when it comes to bold and experimental ingredients.

Big bottle. Dark brown with frothy tan head. Strong peanut butter aroma. Taste is lacking in peanut butter though. Just sweet stout taste basically. Finish could be better too. Had higher hopes for this.
