UPDATED: FEB 5, 2008 Sweet Stout indeed. I didn’t know beer could be this sweet. It’s actually pretty drinkable if you aren’t opposed to the level of sweetness, but I couldn’t do more than one in a sitting. There is still some decent roastiness amongst all the syrupy chocolate and coffee and that makes it way better than its rating in my opinion. I bet it would be fantastic to bake chocolate treats with.

Bottle from Ledgers. Pours really dark brown with a 2 finger tan head. Smells of fresh sweet fruits, chocolate and smooth burned malt. Med body. Lightly sweet. Lightly fruity. Smooth burnt toast with a touch of chocolate. A bit more chocolate in the finish. Which goes slightly bitter as the malt drips away.

A coloração e o creme dessa stout são interessantes, mas o aroma e sabor decepcionam. Doce demais. Pingo Bier...

Bottle pours a very dark brown with a thin light tan head and quickly dissap[earing lacing. Aroma is sweet chocolate, nor real hop bitterness. Flavor is very sweet. Not unpleasant, really, but its as if it isnt finished fermenting. No hops in the flavor either and a medium body, quite smooth and moderate carbonation. Did I say it was sweet.

no head, thin and very uninteresting. Could not recomend this to anyone other than someone who is addicted to sweet

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2004 The aroma is definitely the highlight of this beer. A very fresh, roasty aroma. 3rd world bottle, 3rd world label. Sweet watery coffee flavor. Disappointing after the great aroma. Thin. Definitely a tropical stout.

Delectable, cafe au lait aroma - thought I was in Starbucks - delicious. Dark, black appearance with thin mocha colored head. Good thick lacing. Flavor starts off pretty strong with some subtle coffee notes with a delectable chocolate syrup back end - excellent. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, but who needs to be weighed down when they are traipsing through Rio in Carnival. A very good Sweet Stout in my opinion. Very reminiscent of a Black Russian to some extent.

Looks like a regular stout, but it ends there. Smell is an intense coffee. Taste is of very oversweetened coffee. Reminds me a bit of Cusquena Dark. Too sweet to be appreciated as a non-beer even. If they cut it down a bit, it would not be that bad, sadly.
