From a 12oz bottle Pours a deep amber, reddish brown. Nice tan head, about 1/2 inch thick that leaves little lace. Smells slightly bitter with light malty aromas and hints of apple. Tastes immediately bitter and hoppy although that quickly fades. Not that hoppy. Smooth and buttery if you can imagine that, hint of coriander with a caramel finish. Light to medium bodied and a very drinkable brew. I grab a six-pack of Lobster Ale, cross Rt. 1 and drink it while eating lobster dinners at Young’s Lobster Pound here in Belfast. Tastes best under these circumstances.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2007 On draught 4/22/05 at Darby’s (Belfast, ME). Clear orange-golden beer with a small white head, dense but eventually receding to cover. Aroma is full of fruit esters, lots of diacetyl and creamy sweetness. Leafy, lightly aromatic hops. Flavor begins with tons of diacetyl and rich honeycream malt. The fruity esters are off the charts on this one. Raspberries, strawberries, cherries, peaches. Bits of candied fruit as well and a more dry finish, with hints of leafy, fuzzy hops. Soft, low carbonation, medium body, no thinning. I’m very impressed. Looking forward to more from this brewery.

Bottle: pours amber with a thin white head. Not too much to this one from what I can discern. Very little aroma and very little flavor. Finish is mildly cardboardish. The bottle has a best by date of August 06. Disappointing.

A good red ale, with plenty of carbonation that took a while to settle. Not hoppy very easy to drink.

WOW! I am Highly Impressed with this Amber Ale!
The body is a dark cherry wood hew and thick ass head is a nice light kaki color. There is a nice crisp spiciness to this beer. Notes of black pepper, caramel, apple, grilled red peppers with a lightly roasted flavor… SOLID! There is a crisp hoppy finish, kind of woodsy and organic… a little grapefruit and pine. The palate is a toasted malt and buttery backbone, nice and creamy… Great Amber Ale, BeOch!

Had it with a bowl of clam chowder at the Lobster Cooker in Freeport, Me. This brew is great. Nice reddish color with some foamy head. Nice malty fragrance. Good hop and malt balance. Great palate with a dry finish. Excellent with fresh seafood or social afair.

The beer extravasates the 12 ounce brown bottle a halcyon reddish-brown with a diminutive and frothy light tan head, the lace a sealing sheet to cover the glass. Nose is sweet malt, fresh and crisp to the senses, start has a nice malt profile, somewhat sweet with the top moderate in its feel to the palate. Finish has a personable acidity, the hops delectable in their spicy bite, very dry aftertaste, a nice drinking beer.

Hard to coax a definitive adjective out of the aroma, so I'll leave it at fruity. It had a very nice reddish brown appearance, with a small, short lasting head. Lots of carbonation with a grainy taste. Some hops in the finish to provide a little bite.

This ale lacks any indistinguishable characteristics but is an all around good drinking beer. Nice apple malt flavor with litte bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Nice and tasty.

Light bronze-amber. Husky, slightly breadcrusty aroma leans towards earthiness. Malty flavour with some light earthy hopping (seemed fuggley to me but I didn’t verify that). Sweetish, earthy, field-like finish.
