kramer (2407), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 16, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear amber body under a one finger fizzy off-white head that faded to a partial covering. Nose is crackery toasted malt with a light hoppiness. A slight hint of diacetyl. Flavor is toasted crystal malt with very light hop bitterness. Thankfully none of that diacetyl that I thought was in the nose showed up. Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with a watery texture and moderate fizzy forced carbonation. Overall, just another Amber Ale. Boring. Imaena (259), Portland, Maine, USA Oct 11, 2007 bottle: not my favorite style. but a good representitive of its class none the less. look fort better offerings form this brewer. hopdog (5534), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 2, 2007 12oz bottle. Poured a deeper amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, citrus and some grains. Tastes of caramel, citrus, grainy, and toasted malts. Thinner body. crazyvin (1246), New York, USA Sep 27, 2007 poured a really dark amber color, it was almost brown. A thin tan head which had some retention. Aroma was a mix of caramel and an almost corn-like malt. Flavor was initially sweet with mild caramel notes, it never really seemed fruity but there was a light wood-like character too it. It finished with a pleasant hop bite. decent. BREWMUSKCLES (1062), New Jersey, USA Aug 29, 2007 pretty damn nice. smells nice with a hoppy like citrus grapefruit aroma that is clearly impressive. then tastes like wood and cherry with no citrus at all. nice trick! medium consistancy and still a bit refreshing. bit of caramel in there but it is not overly present. hop profile is very much like a good octoberfest -just a tingle on the tongue. me like! kimcgolf (824), Dacula, Georgia, USA Aug 2, 2007 Fortunately, this did not have lobster flavor, although you never know these days. Actually bought this more as a novelty than anything (when in Maine.....), but it wasn’t too bad. Poured to a reddish brown color with off-white head that lingered to mid-glass and left okay lacing. Nose was slightly grainy, with some floral hops and dark malts. Flavor was more of the same, with a slight leaning toward the malt side, all which led to a medium length, semi-sweet finish.
Would make a decent session beer. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Jul 18, 2007 (draft) Clear copper body with beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, earthy, some sourness, light bread. Taste is medium sweet, earthy/sour, some caramel. Watery light-medium body, faint stickiness. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jul 8, 2007 12oz bottle-pours a thin retaining light tan head and dark amber color. Aroma is a bit weird/odd, maybe some chocolate-medium malt, funky/musty. Taste is nicer than the aroma. Medium malt-sweet caramel/some chocolate, secondary hops-slight bite. OK/mild carbonation.
