Dark ruby color, moderate head of foam, big fruity nose. Robust fruity palate is packed with apple-pear character, nice malt backbone, barely balancing hops in the finish.

Long time is rating, as I had to be certain that it contains no actual lobsters, since those bug-eyed bums don’t agree with me. Aroma of molten caramel and minerals. Reddish orange color, almost clear. Mildly sweet taste, a touch of fizzle, but really not much going on. Perfect session beer for a not-so-hot day at the beach.

I bought a single of this few months ago to try out. The beer store had singles on "sale" that they were trying to clear, so I figured I’d give this a shot. I am glad that I did, otherwise I probably wouldn’t have tried it. I’d say better than expected....slightly. Basically a red ale...mostly sweet and malty. I would buy again if it’s in the $7-$8 range for a six, but I think it’s closer to $9 here....so for that price there is probably better............................................ 11/20/10- They had this on sale for $8 a 6-pack so grabbed one to try again. Liked it still so went back to grab another. They offered me a case for $20 so jumped on that and took some camping. Got back and grabbed another case for $20, so now still got a full case and getting a little Lobster Aled out...but for that price it’s a no-brainer!! Has that "New England" feel and flavor.

Bottle 355ml. Pours dark amber/reddish with low-medium beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma is of malt, caramel. Taste is of caramel, malt, bitterness, slight acidity. Palate: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Overall: OK. Straight-forward and not really complex, but well done. Decent malt.

Pours an amber red. Smells of bread. Taste is overly sweet, cloying minimal hop presence. Not worth drinking.

Foamy head that lingers on top of copper brown body. Sweet malt earthy aroma. Roasted bitterness on the taste buds. Hint of sourness. I can’t help but wonder if I have beer gone bad. Has maltiness with a hint of sweetness but seems flat if not sour.

Enjoyed on tap at Lobster Joint in Brooklyn, NY. This choice seemed appropriate. Appearance is a dark amber, light white head. Aroma is mostly malty, it's decent. Taste is also malty, and also just decent. Not really a fan of this guy, but lobster rules.

Bottle. Copper coloured with a thin, white, head. Sweet caramel and yeasty red fruits, a hint or roastiness and rather boozy finish. A bit crude, but drinkable.

Pours a ruby-tinted brown with a thin, bubbly head that dissipates within a minute or two. Nose is a touch sweet with cider notes. Taste is lightly sweet at first with a crisp, hop-tinged rye finish. Light body, lively carbonation. Good brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A quite nice red. Pours a beautiful deep red with a white head. Smells of molasses and vanilla. More vanilla in the taste with a bit of hops in the finish, nicely balanced. Had on tap at Front Street Pub in Maine.
