Commercial Description:
Dark ruby color, moderate head of foam, big fruity nose. Robust fruity palate is packed with apple-pear character, nice malt backbone, barely balancing hops in the finish.

Pours a slightly murky dark amber bordering on brown and sports at smallish tan quickly receding head. Aroma is displays an English style malt and light fruity hops. More like an English bitter than an Amber as described. Aftertaste is long and lightly fruity. Strong toffee notes creep in mid-glass. Well balanced and an easy drinking session ale.

12 oz. bottle. Is this ale brewed with lobster? Actually, that might have been a better alternative to the beer I drank. Pours a clear reddish amber with a moderate linen white head that lasted until mid-glass and left a thin layer of lace with each sip. Mild aroma of malt and a few whiffs of excessively sweet fruit. The flavor is strong malt along with a bit of overly sweet fruit and an odd hoppy flavor that I can best describe as chewing tobacco juice. This just overwhelms the beer and I frankly only drank about half of the glass. Other than their winter ale, I have not had anything from Shipyard that was all that good, and this beer certainly kept that opinion well intact.

Bottle. [thanks, asheft]
Pours golden-brown with a nice, frothy, yellowish head. Aroma is lightlt sweet, some caramel and light hoppiness. Fine, lightish mouthfeel. Flavour has small notes of cardboard, good dry Cascade hoppiness and some caramel in the background. Okay.

Draught at Thurston’s lobster pound in Bernard, ME. Really surprised me as this was a great amber ale. Very well balanced with malt and just enough bitterness from the hops. Give it a try if possible.

It’s really a clear amber brew with a thin tan head, bit of molasses and mild hoppiness, and a quick finish. I had hoped for more fruitiness here.
