Bottle. Pours almost black with thin brown head. Nice coffee aroma. Bold beginning with the taste of roasted and chocolate malt and a bit creamy. The finish lingers with bitterness from the roasted malt. This is a good stout, maybe not as smooth as some others but full bodied and full flavored.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks Tom L. Black with a light brown head. Aroma of roast, coffee, a bit of chocolate and some acetaldehyde. Bittersweet roasty flavor, with lots of coffee, an apple hint and a bitterish finish.

Pours black with a thick, foamy, cappuccino-looking head that stays forever. Nice lacing. Nose is bready with slight coffee and chocolate notes. Maybe a hint of vanilla. Taste is reasonably well-balanced. Nice bitter hop notes over a light chocolate malt backbone. Medium body. Moderately soft carbonation. Nice brew. I wouldn’t turn one down.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice looking black color with a small half fingered white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute and left a fairly decent spider web lacing. The smell had a fair amount of roasty coffee notes over coating a nice graininess (oatmeal, I guess). There’s a fairly nice vanilla aroma invading as it warms. The taste was mainly roasty and sweet through the coffee and graininess to the vanilla and slight chocolate that ends up slightly coming in as it warms. On the palate, this sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionable quality about it. The carbonation seemed appropriate for the style and worthy to me. Overall, I say this was a pretty good Oatmeal Stout, though it seemed grainier on the nose than just oatmeal.

Bottle. Not a bad little oatmeal stout, but not one of my favourites. It had a nice coffee roastyness to

Huge mocha colored head recedes slowly over the black body. Aroma of bittersweet chocolate with a hint of dark fruit. Coffee and chicory stand out in the initial taste while the earthy roasty flavors play catch-up. More chocolate in the aftertaste. Medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel with a lingering finish.

12oz bottle into an English pint glass. Pours a rich black with a thin creamy head. Rich roasted malt and coffee aroma which is unfortunately not matched in the flavour department. Rather light on the palate with a sweet flavour and a light bitter finish.
