Bottle. Pours almost black with thin brown head. Nice coffee aroma. Bold beginning with the taste of roasted and chocolate malt and a bit creamy. The finish lingers with bitterness from the roasted malt. This is a good stout, maybe not as smooth as some others but full bodied and full flavored.

Single 12 FL. OZ. bottle purchased from Top Shelf Brews... for $1.79? I honestly can’t remember, but I know it didn’t exceed $2. To snifter it pours a dark charcoal brown with trim a toffee tanned head, not even a fingernail in length. Smells and tastes of cheap bourbon, sorghum molasses, booze, Lodndon yeast, vinyl, leather, and some brief roast/ash. Where the hell was the oatmeal? If it was there, it was well hidden. Meh.

pours black with no head. This beer tastes like watered down coffee, it is lightly bitter and has a bit of a roasted malts taste with a medium sourness

12oz bottle, thanks to tmoney99. Best by date: Dec, 2012. Black color. Good 1-finger thick brown head. Nice toasty, oaty, chocolatey nose. Good lighter carbonation, lighter body. Easy to drink, smooth... But still a light chewiness to it that is very enjoyable. Nice roast, light coffee, light burnt malts. Good bittersweet taste. Slight metallic. Lightly smokey. Hint of tobacco. Some chocolate-cereal.. Some sediment visible at the bottom of the glass. Very satisfying oatmeal stout... Much better than expected

Bottle. Poured a black color with a medium off-white creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium toasted chocolate malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium roasted dark sweet flavor with a medium dark sweet finish of average duration. Solid drinkable brew.

Pours a dark black pour with a quick disappearing mocha head. Nose is chocolate and dark roasted coffee, and pleasant enough. Taste is roasted coffee as well with a bitter sweet chocolate taste as well. Finish is sweet with a medium body, descent and drinkable but nothing to write home about. Quaff Score 7 / 10

Pours a black color with a thick brown head. Nice oatmeal taste with a burnt coffee finish. Had this with breakfast like the name suggests. Bit drier than I was hoping.

Pitch black coloured body with a decent two centimetre tall pungent brown coloured head and a 90% opaque glow. Aroma of roasted malt, milk, alcohol and a bit of peat and mulch. Medium-bodied; Strong roasted malt flavours with some caramel and light milk chocolate, a bit of peat and a bit of a spice note. Aftertaste relatively mild with the roasted malt, hints of oatmeal depth and a bit of raisins noticeable. Overall, a decent sweet stout with a good depth, but not much complexity. Definitely one to try if you like the style or are trying to avoid over-hopped beers. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Half Time in Poughkeepsie, New York on 26-December-2012 for US$2.29 sampled at home in Washington on 04-January-2013.
