COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Starting with naturally-pure esker water, Mons Abbey Blonde is brewed from Pilsen and Pale Ale malt, hopped with Styrian Gold hops, and Saaz hops give it aroma, with a classic yeast from Belgium. Before you open a bottle, chill it to around 43°, and then tilt the glass and pour, allowing a nice head to form. Reserve the final ounce and pour it into a shot glass, yeast and all… and decide if you or your guest gets the flavorful brewer’s yeast. Mons Abbey Blonde is delicious with lighter foods, such as chicken, salmon, salads, and Monterey Jack cheese. For dessert, try it with apricot or orange cake, or any citrus custard tart. Salut!

750 mL corked-and-caged bottle served chilled. Pours an effervescent, bright golden-copper color, with thin sparkling white head that had poor retention. Sizable hunks of suspended sediment largely disappeared in the pour but were plainly visible lining the bottom of te snifter a bit later. Limited lacing. Aroma: appropriate for style with bready pale malts and hints of pepper, banana, coriander, and apple cider. Flavor: lightly sweet; moderately fruity, with hints of white pepper, banana, coriander, apples, yeast, apricots and pears. The hops are faint and grassy, becoming obvious only in the aftertaste. Feel: Near medium bodied with lightly prickly carbonation.. O: Mons Abbey Blonde is a good, straightforward Belgian blonde ale at a good price point. Worth trying.

quite carbonated brew with a golden orange colour with a bit of cloud. belgian yeasts, a bit of bread, some lemon but overall quite quiet for the style. On the palate it is smooth, some tartness but yeasty flavours dominate. Decent, fairly medium bodied and easy drinking.

Decent drinking blond a good beer to have at a meal. Yet nothing extraordinary about it other than decent moderate yeast and bitter finish.

Clear golden pour with a frothy white head. Honey aroma with hints of spice. Sweet spicy malt flavour. Nice tangy bitterness, syrup honey texture. Too sweet for me but pleasant enough.

[6203-20140228] Bottle. Mild plasticky yeast aroma. Clear, bright pale yellow body with a long-lasting creamy white head with some lacing. Sweet straw yeast flavour has a lingering aftertaste. Medium body. Interesting. (6/3/7/3/14) 3.3

Overheard: "I’m thinking it’s not a good idea to do a search of ’Mons Blonde’."

Corked and caged 750 ml bottle shared. Pours a clear gold to copper color with a white head of foam. The aroma is bready and grainy and a little eatery. The taste is sweet with a bit of spice. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Pours apricot with a thick skin of white foam on top. Taste is apple juice, candy, & dried fruit. A slight mineral after taste creeps in near the end, which is unwelcome as a visit from the dorky neighbours during cocktail hour. Wait, this is 7%? Pretty decent, but doesn’t match other brews locally available from Quebec, Goose Island or Belgium for that matter.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Hazy medium orange amber with a persistent white head, lace that circles the brew 1/2" up. Taste is yeasty, wheaty malt that moves through the palate gaining momentum as slight bitters join to keep it on an even keel. A very nice light Belgian Ale, tasty and enjoyable. Recommended.
