Starting with this naturally pure Abitibi Esker water, Mons Abbey Witte is brewed with passion and devotion to time-honored Belgian tradition from a blend of malted and unmalted wheat infused with Styrian Golding hops, Hallertau Hersbrucker, and a hint of coriander and orange peel for a discrete citrusy bouquet.

Corked and caged 750 ml bottle shared. Pours a hazed gold with a white head of foam. The aroma is light doughy notes with some citrus zest coming through as well. The taste is mostly sweet and bready. Medium body and medium carbonation.

Pours apple juice into the glass. A cap of thin foam appears on top that flees quicker than Stephen Harper’s hairline (that is a toupee, right?). The apple juice appears again, this time in the flavour profile where I get: crisp red apples, candied yeast, vague pepper spices, breakfast orange juice & a few handfuls of wheat. Pretty good on a hot August evening after a long bike ride.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a mug. The appearance was a hazy yellow color with a decent transparency about it to allow a slight carbonation to be seen rising into a one finger white foamy head. Once the head dissipated and in fact, that head barely lasted twenty seconds, boy did that fade fast, there was some light stringy speckled lacing roaming all over the glass. The smell had a zesty lemon, clove, banana esters combined and coming through in a sweet sort of way. The taste took those flavors and combined nicely. On the palate, this one sat fairly light and came across fairly sessionable. The carbonation was there and decent as a witbier and good to me. Overall, good witbier I’d have again if I could get it.

Hazy light yellow, huge white head. Big aroma of malted wheat with subtle lemon zest, and some yeast. The finish is sweet, and tastes like a pina coloada. Lots of sweet pineapple and apple pie flavors, quite weird.

Bottle at La Foire Gourmande in Ville Marie Quebec. Hazy golden pour, big frothy white head. Aroma of coriander, lemon, and wheat. Good carb, mouth feel is a little bloated. More lemon, and a touch of spices in the finish. Coriander being the most dominant. A little too much malted wheat, emparting a touch of butter in the finish.

750 ml bottle from Drummondville SAQ. Pours a murky golden yellow with thin white head. Aroma is wheat, orange zest, coriander and other herbal notes. Flavour is on the sweet side chewy wheat, orange peel, light coriander and mellow herbal notes. Lively carbonation. Pleasant.

750 ml bottle from Drummonville Loblaws. Pours a murky dull darkish yellow with small white cap. Aroma is mellow citrus and wheat. Flavour has gentle lemon and orange zest, wheat and hints of spice. A little lifeless in the mouth. Not bad, but pretty forgettable.

750 ml bottle. Pours a thin, slightly hazy yellow with a large but short-lived white head. Aromas are zesty lemon, yeast, mild clove and banana, and a touch of sweet candy. Tastes are artificial banana, yeast, and lemon. Fairly thin on the palate, solid carbonation, and mildly sweet but short finish. Nice session but not too complex.

2014/06/25 - Pours a translucent yellow/gold colour with a large, fizzy, white head that quickly vanishes. Aroma is wheat, mild yeast, banana/orange esters and spices. Taste is wheat, yeast, heavy on the clove and coriander spices, mild citrus / banana esters and grainy aftertaste. Light to medium mouthfeel with effervescent carbonation and a sharp, refreshing finish. Carbonation borders on being too high. Not bad, but not remarkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

@ Party Town / Florence KY --- Cloudy deep gold with a decent 1/2" head cover, no lace. Taste is wheat and malt that adds considerable spice before turning a little bitter in the finish. Spice takes more than its fair share of the taste. Only average.
