Bière commercialisée de façon bizarre. En effet, elle est présentée comme une triple ambrée, et en fait elle n’est aucun des deux !!! Ambrée?? la mienne était d’un doré foncé, oui, ou si on veut, d’un ambré clair, mais alors il faut être très tolérant... Triple?? non, même si elle affiche 8,1 au compteur abv, et si elle est refermentée en bouteille. Ceci n’est pas une triple, mais ok pour une « hoppy strong » comme indiqué sur l’étiquette de la bouteille. Hoppy, c’est plus que vrai, puisque pas moins de 4 houblons sont utilisés !!! Donc on regarde la belle couleur dorée, nappée d’un léger voile trouble, et on déguste... Des bulles par milliers très fines au centre du verre : très bien. Une mousse blanche bien structurée, et qui reste à un bon niveau : très bien. Des arômes superbes comme des épices de l’Orient, et de grande finesse : très bien. Un volume très soyeux à la prise en bouche : très bien. 1er goût sur du bois et des fleurs blanches de type aubépine, jasmin et camomille, avec une très amusante touche de fumée lointaine. 2ème goût sur un houblon aromatique de premier choix, qui ferait même penser à un bon Havane. 3ème goût sur des noisettes, des amandes, du bois de rose, du réglisse et chose très rare à noter : une pointe de bois de santal... La longueur est plutôt sur des notes de réglisse. La levure est très douce et bien dans la tonalité. La finale n’est pas très explosive, mais l’alcool soutient correctement la note. En conclusion, il s’agit d’une bière originale, dans le sens où elle est très parfumée : fleurie et boisée. Il faut aimer le genre, mais elle occupe une place qui n’est pas souvent occupée, et à ce titre elle mérite une mention spéciale, et bien sûr le titre de « bière spéciale », plutôt que celui de triple, et surtout en aucun cas de -abbey triple- !!...

Tremenda, los 4 lúpulos la convierten en un clásico junto con su hermana de 4 cereales.

Bottle from Venerables. Enormous gusher upon opening. Hazy orange colour, large off-white head. Nose is caramel, sweet malts, little spices, some yeast, slightly alcoholic. Flavour is sweet malty, fruits, bready and yeast. Bitter and slightly alcoholic finish.

Hazy amber with an off-white head and lots of tiny floaties. Aroma is sweet, malty, yeasty and fruity. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 260212

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours hazy brown with a moderate, white foam head. Sweet, doughy aroma with notes of yeast and heavy berries. Big sweet flavor, lots of fruit character, some yeast, bread, sugar. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm, sweet finish, berries, pineapple, strawberry. I’m not completely taken with this beer, but it’s not too bad.

Bottle @ home. Hazy orange / brune colored beer with some yeast particles in it. Thick vast off-white head. Malty aroma with some overripe fruits. Taste fruits, overripe fruits, malts, some bitterness, slightly hops. Medium carbonation, medium body.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, nuts, malt, fruits and hops.

Bottle. Amber, cloudy, small and mostly diminishing head. Moderate malty and sweetish aroma, caramel and fruitiness, light spiciness with some grassy hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, caramel and fruitiness with light citrus, light spiciness with some grassy hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and sweetish with light fruitiness, caramel and light spiciness with light citrus, some hoppyness and alcohol. Caramel sweetish and fruity tripel with some hoppyness - weird combination, do not work for me.

Bottle (33 cl) from bierzwerg.de. Shady amber, large fluffy off-white head. Strong fruity, floral, and perfumy aroma, slightly artificial. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Dry to semi dry, low to medium bitterness.

33cl. bottle from a local beer retailer. It pours a densely looking hazy amber-brown (with reddish tones) liquid with a small-medium tainted and thinly lasting beige head that leaves little lacing. Full of floating yeast spots, some of them quite dark. The aroma is malty, sweet, with some hoppy character, with hints of caramel, roasted malts, ripe red fruits, a little orange and yeast, some herbs and spices. Some slight vinegary notes complete a not very intense nose. It tastes likewise, intenser, with some additional peppery and alcoholic (not annoying) notes. It is medium-high sweet, low-medium bitter and low sour. In the mouth it feels mild but lively carbonated, thick, with a medium-full body and a long and quite dry finish, with an aftertaste of caramel, fruit, pepper, spices and herbs. Presentation is smart and quite all right for a nice and intensely flavoured amber beer. (Much better beer if warmer than 6º, which is what it says in the label).
