Bottle 33cl. A pale cloudy yellow beer with medium carbonation and head. Smell is on hops, dry hoping and agrumes. Aroma is malty, round flavor, with wheat notes, sweet but with dry finish, notes of lemon and yeast, body is medium, near to a Belgian Triple.

small frothy white head. thick cloudy dark yellow body. mostly diminishing. good lacing. aroma: tons of orange and caramel, honey, barley. if: moderate sweet and very light bitter. ff: moderate sweet light bitter. long duration. palate: medium full body, soft carbonation, creamy texture, light astringent finish. Leffe’s wheat cloudiness, more alcoholic warming than its abv would stand for, pleasant tasty sweetness, very craty and classical Belgian. 90s so worth 13,5

Bottle conditioned, 330ml from York Beer & Wine, York. Slightly hazed yellow gold with white head. Honeyed and spicy beer to a heavyish extent, lots of coriander and clove with a touch of herb. The mouthfeel is just a little heavy and lasting.Quite drinkable though.

Picked up at Daniels Drinkmarket (Prik Tik) in Tongeren Overrepen, Belgium. Pours a hazy medium orangish amber color. Aroma is lightly malty, hoppy, yeasty, with a touch of fruit. Flavor is a nice mixture of malts and fruits.

Had this at the Pittsburgh Great European Beer Festival at the Sharp Edge Beer Emporium 6/2010. Such a nice beer friendly place! Typical belgy nose, clean and fresh. Looks like pale lager. Thin creamy head. Some belgy like hay flavors, comes across almost refined. Easy to like. Some taste of rubber in there. Bitter at the end. OK, but could use a few manners. Not really in the same league as orval but much better than most of the US imitations.

Hazy straight golden ale with a smallish white sheet of foam for a Belgian ale. On the nose, this has a mostly yeast-oriented aroma profile with clovey, almost rubbery phenols and some DMS from its pils malts. This sounds very negative, but it is not unpleasant, as its vegetal side somewhat compensates for the hops timidity, albeit not gracefully so. Besides that, the malt profile is more vigorous in mouth where joyous pils malt feel grainy, cerealic and fits the yeast’s inherent breadiness though I’m not certain how much I enjoy its soft underlying grainy acidity. Not much estery fruitiness in there which makes the whole ensemble rather simple, but for a lager lover who likes to feel the ingredients, this is not too annoying. Actually feels pretty fresh in mouth and while more hops would be welcome, its cerealic malts never feel overly heavy/sweet and the absence (or close to) of alcohol makes it ultimately refreshing and drinkable by large sips.

11.2 oz. bottle shared by shigadeyo. Pours golden in color with a medium sized white head and quite a bit of sediment floating around. The aroma was very sweet, almost candy like, floral, yeasty with some grainy malt. The flavor has a bready/biscuity malt base with a fairly high level of sweetness. It becomes more fruity and floral as you drink more. The finish is dry. Medium bodied, easy drinking. Overall, this was an ok beer, but not one I would seek out again.

5/18/2010: Magus Belgoo... Aroma: Dampened honey; mostly grains. Appearance: Nice moder label; the beer is golden; mostly trasnparent but there is some sediment churning in it; rapid carbonation; thin, off-white crown. Flavor: Fruit; the grains seem to op through; a bit on the sweeter side dry finish; progression of flavor: sweet and grainy > fruity and floral > dry. Palate: Medium body; mostly smooth; decent carbonation. Overall: My expectations for this beer were low, but it doesn’t suck afterall!

11.2 fl. oz. bottle (6.6% Alc. Vol.) from The Party Source in Bellevue, KY. Rating #115 for this beer.
