2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 JorisPPattyn (6725) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - DEC 7, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2007 Small off-white head over pale ochre-orange beer. Vegetable & deepfried dumplings nose, as batter-surrounded vegetable matter, deep fried. Slightly sweet taste, as well as (cooked) vegetable, DMS. A bit fiery MF, but soon the beer falls flat. I was told this was brewed at a new location (then why the La Binchoise address on the bottle?). Anyway, it needs quite some work.
Additional info from the brewer: brewed by the own brewer at the site at La Binchoise, but independantly. Similar to the Struise Brouwers/ Deca situation.

Bottle. High creamy and long lasting white had. Hazy light yellow body. Nutty lemon grapefruit aroma. Mild and relatively sweet creamy lemon flavor with a short aftertaste and low carbonationa. Watery and boring in spite of the high alcohol percentage

from crackedkettle.com; 4 grains beer (barley, wheat, oats and spelt) - cloudy dark orange colour with a poor and irregular foam; aroma of cinnamon, apricot and orange; highly carbonated, medium-bodied, tart palate; rough and bitter aftertaste of orange and cinnamon - raw and unfriendly

Had this at the Pittsburgh Great European Beer Festival at the Sharp Edge Beer Emporium 6/2010. Such a nice beer friendly place! Typical belgy nose, clean and fresh. Looks like pale lager. Thin creamy head. Some belgy like hay flavors, comes across almost refined. Easy to like. Some taste of rubber in there. Bitter at the end. OK, but could use a few manners. Not really in the same league as orval but much better than most of the US imitations.
1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 mulderbelgie (10) - BELGIUM - SEP 9, 2009
not my favorite, too many "bready" on the tongue and carton taste like. i don’t like it, but compared to many of the beers that can be tasted worldwide, it’s a good beer.

Pours cloudy golden yellow. Nose is light with hints of yeast, banana and tangerine. Mouthfeel is full bodied and very carbonated. Finish falls a little short. All in all, a really nice beef
