Experience the best of everything with """"""""the cream of Scottish beer"""""""". Its light creamy head with lacing to the bottom of the glass gives you a taste that’s refreshing and moreish with a hint of hop.

Had this in a can and had great expectations as a huge fan of Belhaven’s Scottish Ale. Unfortunately I was thoroughly disappointed. This is certainly not Belhaven’s best and not worthy of being hyped as their premier beer.

Keg, at the Tudor Inn, St. Andrews, Scotland.
Amber with a fine white cream head. Sweet dispersed aroma. Crappy bitter flavour. Thin as you like.

Forget that better bitter crap that I said about the Rogue Special Bitter, because Belhaven takes them to town. Beautiful marbled appearance as the cream descends, enlightening those flavorful sips of beer, which once had been shrouded in darkness. The flavor is complex wiht a somewhat ho-hum effect on your palate--bitter and heavy, but not for long. I like this beer and just might try it again.

UPDATED: APR 24, 2004 A smooth, drinkable ale with a creamy white gorgeous head that laces the glass with love. When poured it has a similar to Guinness cloudy-look, but it is creamier and whiter. The taste is smooth and unobtrusive, almost taciturn, but nonetheless pleasant and reassuring, a solace in times of trouble. Good, and with a smoothness akin to Gordon Biersch's Marzen.

Colour was dark amber, head was large lasting and slightly off white. Aroma of honey, caramel and milky coffee. Smooth taste, malt upfront followed by a slight bitterness and a chalky milky texture.

(Draught canned) Dark amber color, thick and tight head with beautiful lacing. Soft, fruity and malty aroma. Fruity flavor with orange and caramel malt. Softly bitter finish and creamy aftertaste. Extremely soft and smooth, creamy and well-balanced, medium-bodied palate. Very nice - reasonably full, yet easily drinkable - and all that with a very low ABV. This really is Belhaven's best (of what I've had)!

For all of you who cringe at the thought of the widget can give this a real shot! Beautiful amber color, and just superb balance! I have had it on cask and it is the perfect session beer! I am prejudiced but they are the most consistant brewery in Scotland!

This is definitely what I would call a "session" beer. Orange with yellow edges, eggshell head. It had plenty of malty goodness, yet wasnt too full bodied, along with its smoothness, you can really pound this stuff....not bad.

Smooth and creamy nitro can bitter, which is not bitter at all. Not too much flavour as well, but after 3-4 pints you begin to understand its popularity.

Slightly more bitter than I'd expected from a "Bitter" yet extremely creamy. Not something I'd seek out, but there's a sweetness to it. Nitro can.
