Belhaven Black Scottish Stout really is something completely different. Bursting with roast coffee and chocolate flavours, this is a truly genuine and premium pint. Brewed using pure Scottish water and a unique blend of Scottish triple malts sourced from the finest locally grown barley.

Almost black, beige head quickly gone to thin ring, some lacing. Nothing in aroma but some roasted malt and sour cabbage. Watery taste, too high carbonation sourness, thin roasty finish. Nothing. Six feet of mud.

Bottle. Jet black, not very impressive head. Chocolate, roastiness, some coffee in aroma, but also something bad is happening, slightly phenolic in a unpleasant way. Roastiness again in taste, chocolate and caramel. Light carbonation, but still too much for me for a stout. Light bitterness. In general thin and watery

Ujdzie. Nikły aromat słodów palonych, fajny wygląd, a w smaku bez szału. Ot, taki stoucik. Tyle...

Originally rated on 3/29/14. Found this one on tap at the Wayside Pub... This poured out as a nice deep blackish brown color with a decent tan head on top, that left some really nice thick lace. The smell has some light chocolate and some earthy roasted aromas. The taste of the beer is on the sweeter side, with the chocolate, roasted notes kinda dry it out. The mouthfeel isn’t overly heavy at all, it’s probably medium bodied and has a light amount of carbonation. Overall this beer is pretty decent.
