Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 16, 2003 The aroma is sweet, malty, and yeasty with notes of berries. The color is dark orange and it has a fine but fast disappearing head. The flavor is sweet and dominated by a myriad of berry notes - as if it is a drinkable version of a mixed marmelade - on my tastebuds it doesn't fit that well with a beer. I detect strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries combined with very weak malt notes. There is no bitterness to balance the sweetness from the berries. This beer is more special, than it is good. omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden May 12, 2003 Bottled. Golden coloured. Interesting, strong fruit aroma: strawberries and black currant. Sweet and clean with notes of vanilla. No bitterness in a finish dominated by black currant. Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 16, 2005 Updated: Jul 3, 2005(Bottle 50 cl) This beer is pink?? Somewhat like Lambrusco...jeezzz... Filtered, not much head. Dry (which is nice) but also bitter(which is not so nice considering the natural sweetness from the fruit - it collides in my subtle opinion). Points for trying but Belhaven should stick to what they do best. 290204 Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 14, 2003 Bright amber; strong, fruit extract aroma. The label is notably vague but I get blackberries, raspberries and maybe cherries. Toasty, bread crusty amber malts dominate the palate, forcing the syrupy fruit to the background, where it intermingles with woody hop bitterness. Subtle smoke notes show as it warms. I'm not comfortable with the discord between aroma and palate, nor am I happy that each seems unbalanced, albeit in opposite directions. yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 25, 2008 Århus2008. 50 cL bottle. Pours almost clear and golden orange with a lacing white head. Light apple fruity aroma. Flavour is fruity with a subdued malt base, I pick up some hops as well. Light and refreshing and slightly more to offer in the flavour than in the aroma. Light fruity finish with a mild bitterness.
