500ml bottle. Slightly cloudy reddish orange body with a thin off-white head. Aroma has malt and caramel. Flavor is a bit sweet malty with caramel and a balanced bitterness. Harmonic and a fine bitter finish, very pleasant.

Balanced sweetness, warming, mild malt taste, with very nice aftertaste. Palate is somewhat alcoholic in its warmth (despite the mere 4,2%), with an slight (and very british) hoppiness - plus some slight notes of burnes sugar. I like this beer. Once used the name of this brew an alter-ego for an course-required test at undergraduate level, without knowing that the course professor was, in fact, a decendent of (the real life) Robert Burns... So bevare!

(bottle) Clear, copper coloured effervescent hue with a big, light-beige foamy head. Slightly dusty, moderately sweet toast-malty nose with toffee, berry-fruity and citrousy hops. Mildly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Toast-malty, slightly fruity taste with toffee and notes of liquorice; quite sweet and faint bitter finish. A tad too mild and sweet for my liking (24.05.08).

Dark brown colour with a nice white head. Aroma is sweet malty with caramel, and some hops. Sweet flavour with notes of malt, caramel and hints of smoke. Little too sweet but okay.

Deep amber with large off white head. Sweet fruity aroma with caramel and toasted malt. Sweet flavor that holds caramel, berries and grainy notes. Ends sweet.
