Ungstrup (10415), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 25, 2002 A red beer with a good head. It has a slightly fruity aroma. And a good sweet powerful flavor. Papsoe (9242), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 23, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Dark brown with a rich, beige head. Notes of nuts and roasted malt with a light edge of smoke reminding me of Scotch. A bit low in carbonation and quite dry. A decent but far from sophisticated brew. 140700 Oakes (6529), Miami Beach, Canada Jun 18, 2005 Bright golden-brown colour. Aroma is toasty, slightly breadcrusty, a little bit minerally. Nutty, minerally character, with a slight ashtray note that lends unpleasantness. Bear in mind I’m having this at home, where a cigarette has not been smoked since they closed the prison that sat on this site 20 years ago. Light body. Quick, lightly nutty finish. Has a session appeal but lacks life and distinctiveness (save the ashtray). sk8viking (5995), Copenhagen, Denmark May 29, 2005 Amber colour with a off-white head. Sweet malty aroma and taste. Medium body and a smooth finish. argo0 (5860), Washington DC, USA Dec 30, 2002 Clear copper with white head that leavews nice lacing. Aroma is very sweet, and very malty, with definite scotch element. Taste is sweet malty, some woodsiness and minimal bitterness. True to style.
