dpjuart (549), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 27, 2008 12 oz. bottle courtesy/share with Naka. Pours light red with foamy white head, small and quickly dissipating. Nose is fruity, apple and peach with a touch of caramel and biscuit. Lots of fruit, raisin and plum, some lighter notes of pear and slight peach. Big on caramel and toffee. Clean, crisp, mild bitter that lingers into the after with some yeasty, bready quialities along with a slight alcohol warmth. Good mouthfeel. Tasty brew that’s really drinkable.
Fin (2179), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Aug 29, 2008 Bottle, thanks to Craig for this, part of my Cropredy swap box, consumed 28-08-08 Pours mid amber with a white frothy head. The carbonation is quite high, makes one belch a few times aside from this there can be very few complaints, its just a simple no nonsense bitter which I liked, its not too bitter, not too fruity or malty, its just a really simple but decent session ale that I could happily quaff all night long, and even more impressive to think that its pateurised. Nice beer. DrDavid (153), , Vermont, USA Aug 28, 2008 (Bottle). Aroma is mild sweet malt. Color a dark amber, with a medium off-white head. Flavor is very smooth, a little nutty, and mostly caramel malt. Finish is semi-dry, with a lasting maltiness and some tang. Pleasant and refreshing. brigg (125), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Aug 27, 2008 (bottle) Dark amber, with a medium lasting head. Sweet malt aroma. Flavor is sweet with a moderate underlying tangy-bitterness. Grape, metallic, and roasted malt flavors. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. 944play (16), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 26, 2008 12oz in bordeaux glass. Dark amber with off-white head. Malty, toasty nose with some light fresh grape esters. Rich and sweet without a hint of cloying! Very clean finish, more tangy than bitter. Much drier than its color, ABV, and flavors would indicate. Beautifully drinkable and flavorful. Dig it. fidel (133), Livermore, California, USA Aug 23, 2008 Golden amber, sweet, smokey, smooth and creamy, malty, caramel, nutty, nice bitter finish.
