joeyplush (328), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 14, 2009 Dark amber with a thick off-white head. Good lacing. Unique aroma of roasted, maybe burnt, malt and also some nuttiness. Flavor is robust, with toasted malt offset with light hop bitterness. Palate is complex, with decent carbonation in the finish and a strong roasted malt aftertaste. This is an excellent beer that exceeded my expectations. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Feb 11, 2009 Bottle. Pours a medium amber with a half finger beige head and decent lacing. FriarHop (31), Long Beach, New York, USA Jan 28, 2009 Bottle. Pours a nice color. Lasting thin lacing. Big malty flavor and finish. A bit metallic and what I find to be a not too flattering roasted, yeasty palate. zvikar (413), Tel-Aviv, Israel Jan 28, 2009 Red brown juice with light tan head, malty sweet aroma some flowery perfum, flavor is of malty sweetness with citrusy crisp, some roasted notes with yeasty aftertaste. scotch4281 (39), Hollywood, Florida, USA Jan 25, 2009 I’m a fan of scotch ales and was happy to sample this one. Slightly malty, no overwhelming. This was lighter in flavor and texture, so it wasn’t hard to drink.
