grikmok (92), Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA Oct 11, 2009 Had a can that had widget packaging. The pour was very good. The beer settled as the foam rose. Very impressive. Aromas of malt and a hint of coffee. Flavor of honey and malts. I thought the body was lacking for a beer with its aroma. Not a bad beer, but a little too light for my taste. VTHopHead (895), Barre, Vermont, USA Oct 11, 2009 500ml Bottle - Poured a dark amber in color with a small off-white head. Aroma is malty and sweet with some diacetyl present. Flavor is also quite malty, but not as sweet as I expected. Hops not really a player in the taste. A decent Scottish... worth seeking out again... derekbrown (17), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Oct 5, 2009 Like this beer a lot. Definitely a little heavy. Almost like a brown Guinness. The head is great...I’m a big fan of foam. Very tasty and has an extremely smooth finish. I will be buying again. Itzjerm (70), Harvest, Alabama, USA Oct 1, 2009 An excellent Scotch Ale... if you like a boiler maker you’ll like this. Well if you expect a nice scotch flavor in a boiler maker. Smooth but very enjoyable. Go get it! churchill00 (154), Austin, Texas, USA Sep 21, 2009 I’m not sure why, but I’m crushing on Scottish Ales at the moment. Damn you, William Wallace! Seriously though, fine malts with a flavorful finish. CervezaCabeza (5), Le Mans, France does not count Sep 17, 2009 I think the ABV is wrong on here because my can says 5.2% and it only shows it at 3.9%. Overall a very drinkable Scottish Ale smooth, malty, nutty with the nitro head. Fratto (670), Arlington, Texas, USA Sep 14, 2009 Similar flavors to the Wee Heavy but not as strong. Still a consistently good Belhaven product. milljam (562), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Sep 14, 2009 I’ve certainly had far better bitters. Not much in the way of any bitterness. Aroma and flavor have notes of malt and watered down scotch. Pretty bland and not worth the price.
