Aromas of molasses and slight alcohol. There were some small particles in this bottle (bad?)...Flavor was slightly nutty, with the molasses up front. Clean on the palate w/ a creamy bitter sweet finish. wickster (32), fort wayne, Indiana, USA

At first I thought I might have had a dud, as there was very little carb in this. Reading other reports, it looks like that may be the norm.
Overall not a bad beer. Scott Ales normally arn’t my fav...this one has quite a nutty flavor to it that overall is rather pleasing.
If your looking for a nice muted brew that would be the polar opposite of an IPA, this may be the one for you. I paid $2.50ish for the 16oz can, and overall I would say its a good buy for the low cost. benpickens (130), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Aroma of caramel and faint scents of apple. A good bear wanting to burst through a somewhat watery layer. BMan1113VR (2813), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA

Aroma is heavy roasted malts with some really light citrus notes. Large, creamy, off-white head with good retention and great lacing. Clear body that is a medium brown. Taste is very malty and salty out back. Mouthfeel is lightly creamy with some lively carbonation. BigMilly8 (374), Holiday, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 12, 2008 From bottle : Pours a clear dark rusty color, with a finger of white fluffy head with good retention. Nose of roasted coffee beans and caramel, a little faint though, but what is there is quite good. But what was so good about the smell, they dont follow up with in the beer. Taste isnt bad, there just really isnt anything there, very bland, maybe a slight bit of malt, but not much. Medium body, feels pretty smooth in the mouth, and the aftertaste is a little malty. Nothing really stands out whatsoever about this beer, other then a little bit of good faint smell. Cryotek (206), Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA
