Similar flavors to the Wee Heavy but not as strong. Still a consistently good Belhaven product.

I’ve certainly had far better bitters. Not much in the way of any bitterness. Aroma and flavor have notes of malt and watered down scotch. Pretty bland and not worth the price.

this is a very enjoyable if not complex brew. Creamy smooth with a nutty, malty flavor.

It poured a dark liquid with a small light brown foam. It smelled of butter scotch and tasted of chocolate and something burned.

Amber with a small white head. Aroma of caramel and toffee with cardboard notes. Sweet and boring caramel flavour

Served on nitro at Mellow Mushroom in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear reddish amber color with a typical nitro head. Creamy with good retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel malts with a light hoppiness. Taste is caramel, leafy hops and a light fruity note. Lightly tart throughout. Medium bodied,

A better than expected Scottish ale. This beer pours a medium amber with a cascading head from the nitro widget. I like the look, but that’s probably just because of some remaining Guinness love/brainwashing. The aroma is sweet and mild for a Scottish ale. The flavor has a good balance of pleasant hops, doughy malt and caramelization. I enjoy it, but I’m not a huge fan of Scottish ales, so take that for what you will. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. Drinkability is quite good for my tastes because it’s not as sweet as many other Scottish ales.
