Deep copper colored with a large, off-white head. It had a strong malt flavor, was creamy smooth and very well balanced. To me, it was hoppier and not as sweet as a classic Scotch. It was full-bodied and mouth filling. The creamy head lasted through the final swallow.

Drink at North Shield pub in Istanbul fro bottle. Brown colour with top stay good. Smokky scent on first follows with malty taste. Doesn’t stay so much on mouth but ver nice beer. Thanx to Teoman Hünal bringing this beauty to Turkiye.

8/22/07 from the bottle. Aroma is malty/sour forward with light caramel, light roast and a light peaty smoke tone. Appearance is hazy medium copper with a good off-white head. Flavor is sweet malt forward with a medium bitter finish. Flavor is slightly sour and grainy. It sounds strange, but the flavor is crisp and clean despite having resiny hop tones. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a dry finish and a medium/low carb texture. Overall, a clean, good session beer, but the lack of craminess makes is far less appealing in many areas than the nitro can version, gave this one a slightly lower 3.8 6/20/07 From a pub draught can. Aroma is light caramel forward, light bubblegum candiness and some nutty notes. Beer is a clear copper with a persistent white head. Flavor is sweet caramel followed by some slightly sour malt. There is a light fruitiness, very low bittering and some hop flavor. Very rich. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with no finish; very creamy. Overall, a very good beer; maybe a little too rich to have more than one.

On tap at the Oasis. Always reasonably priced in bottles at Woodman’s. Nice caramel and smokey malts. Oasis had it with nitro. Good sweetness and hop bitterness

Darnit I wanted to try another Scottish when I bought this. Not what I wanted but a very good bitter. Pour was a deep gold with a nice 2 finger off white head that lasted until I was done. Aroma of ashes (?) and hops. Taste was mostly earthy hops with some smoke and malt in the background. Mouth biting carbonation which was a nice change of pace from most bitters. I enjoyed this

12 oz bottle at TABC in Dallas. Amber color with off white head. There is a sweetness to this brew in both aroma and flavor. I’m not particularly big on bitters so only found it to be okay.

Draught Can. Pours An amber red colour with the nitro head. Weak aroma of malts. Strong flavourful notes of roasted malts, with points of caramel, a light hop bitterness in the finish with a warm alchohol feeling in the back. Not bad, Belhaven has yet to disapoint me.
