wilderthanyou (410), Guelph, Ontario, Canada Jul 17, 2007 Draught Can. Pours An amber red colour with the nitro head. Weak aroma of malts. Strong flavourful notes of roasted malts, with points of caramel, a light hop bitterness in the finish with a warm alchohol feeling in the back. Not bad, Belhaven has yet to disapoint me. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Jul 16, 2007 Draught can. Aroma of light caramel malt. Amber color with the nitro head. Creamy. A slightly smoky sweet malt. Not finding much bitter. Some stone fruit, and arguably a bit of citrus. The finish is fairly balanced. Pleasant. DeweyDell (155), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jul 15, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours copper with a white head and pretty white lacing. Smells like sweet malts and a little yeast.
Smoke comes out in the flavor. Perfect creaminess. Good price. Something to keep stocked for when friends come over. badlizard (2325), Berkeley, California, USA Jul 14, 2007 500 mL bottle. Copper red with creamy white head. Grainy and malty aroma. Grainy wheat bread taste with wome roasty notes and a slight bitterness to the finish. mansquito (819), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Jul 14, 2007 Bottle (though I took a swig from a can before): Pours a light brown colour with a creamy head. Light aroma without much interesting traits. Palate is creamy as all hell with a light hoppy taste and some bitterness. Tastes a lot like a cleaner Boddingtons. Pretty good bitter ale. If you are what you drink then I’m a bitter man. DaMenace123 (250), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 14, 2007 Tap at Ginger Man Houston. Malty creamy flavor. White head, good lacing. tangentrider (144), USA Jul 12, 2007 Brown ale with a malty, fruity aroma; half inch off-white head; sweet flavor with a bit too much bitterness; short, mostly bitter finish. mkgrenwel (420), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA Jul 8, 2007 Super creamy palate. Nutty, smoky malt. Sweet woody smoke flavor. Light hints of earthy mossy hops riding in the back. Nice balanced beer. I’d be more inclined to call this a Scottish Ale than a Bitter. Hell, I really like this stuff.
