Mar 3, 2007 Pours a nice amber with stubborn head that lasts all the way. Malty, hoppy and pretty thick consistency considering it came out of the can. Finishes short and somewhat bitter. Not bad but nothing to get to excited about here either. Perhaps I’ll re-rate after I try it on tap.

Mar 2, 2007 Pours dark amber into a shaker. Off-white micro head with good retention subsides with minor lacing. Malt aromas. Crisp and tingly with front to back caramel. Lasting malt finish.

Mar 2, 2007 Had someone who was 21 buy me a sixer. Almond colour body with a nice, fine off-white head. Sweet and smoky on the nose. Like drinking a glass of earth, and oh does earth taste good. Peat and caramel dominate the taste, aided by some malt and light hops in the background. Very easy to drink, as it finishes dry.

Feb 28, 2007 On the nitro tap in a scottish bar in Cincinnati. Deep amber color with the fine creamy off-white head you get from the nitro. The nose was a thin sweetness with the washed out sense I find out with a nitro pour. Very smooth mouthfeel. Caramel sweetness with some peat smokiness and toast. A solid standard.

Feb 28, 2007 Nutty brown color, with foamy white head that mostly dissipated after a couple minutes. Light aroma, some smokiness. Smooth, almost creamy mouth feel. Flavors of caramel and a bit of cinammon. Overall, decent.

Feb 26, 2007 This had a sweet carmelly,malty aroma,which wasn’t too strong.small head.Color was a darker amber.Palate average.sweet light butterscotch .somewhat bitter from the hops.Pine smell and flavor.finished resiny and bitter.Pretty good beer.

Feb 23, 2007 Bottle: Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, small, quickly collapsing "dirty" white head; distinctive sweet and toasted-malty nose with a touch of aromatic hops; moderate sweet-bitter flavour; quite medium-bodied for a beer of 3.9%; sweetish-malty finish with an increasing bitterness in the aftertaste. A fine, satisfying ale.............

Feb 22, 2007 Updated: Mar 24, 2009I don’t really like this beer very much. A little too malty and chocolaty for a bitter. Not a very good finish. It looks good but doesn’t have much of an aroma. I thought it was better the first time I tried it.
