shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Jul 27, 2009 1/30/2008: Belhaven Scottish Ale smells fruity with undertones of chocolate. It’s color is golden and it has a transparent appearance. There is a foamy off-white head that provides good lacing. There is a moderate amount of carbonation in this smooth, medium-bodied beer. The flavor is nutty and somewhat dry with a bit of "green" coffee bean characteristics. This beer is a little confusing since it seems to be a cross between a Bitter and and a Scottish-style Ale.
12 fl. oz. bottle. Rating #921 for this beer.
jimthechap (174), Christchurch, New Zealand Jul 26, 2009 Come to me my lovely!
This beer has every element that I enjoy. Complexity of malt aromas and flavours, just a dash of hops and a drinkability that begged me to have another. Alas, alack I only had the one bottle. Definitely a starter for next time. aobecksy (661), Middle of no where, Ohio, USA Jul 23, 2009 execellent drink. Good lacing, light head, honey butterscotch color. Warming drink with strong maltiness....very very nice. azlondon (656), Fribourg, Switzerland Jul 20, 2009 Appearance: Dark brown. Clear. Good amount of long-lasting off-white head.

With that being said, it was still an okay beer overall. spiritsbeerman (47), Nicholasville, Kentucky, USA Jul 17, 2009 Pours amber a little head and some lacing. A nuttty brown taste. A very nice beer. Hopper (277), San Antonio, Texas, USA Jul 16, 2009 Pours dark amber with a small creamy head that calls your mouth to it. Aroma of light malt. Taste is malty, slight nut, & mainly a malty tasting beer. The tap version is a lot more creamy than the bottle.
