Can. A nice, medium-bodied ale. Contains a decent amount of malt. this is the kind of beer you can drink several of and know you will enjoy them all. Nothing fancy, just a good, solid ale.

bottle - Pours clear amber with a moderate head that quickly fades to very thin and creamy with a little lacing. The aroma is malty and distinct. The flavor is of caramel malts and a hint of dark fruit with a lightly carbonated, medium bodied mouthfeel. Hops presence is minimal. The finish is sweet.

Draught at the Crown and Anchor in Monterey. Cask like aroma with roasted malt notes. Cascading head, amber body, creamy off-white, cask head. Creamy lace! Sweet; a little molassesy. Not my favorite initially, but it improves. Not bad. Has some flavor, but just not my favorite.

I had this on tap at Paddy’s Irish Pub which is part of the Château Élan Winery & Resort located in Braselton, Georgia just up I-85 from Atlanta. It was served in a pint glass. When served to me it was doing a cascading thing like Guinness does which made it look like a caramel colored gravy. When it settled down the ale was a clear amber color with a white creamy head on top. The head never went away and there was nice lacing all the way down the glass. The 1st whiff of the head was a sour one. The second yielded a much more pleasant caramel aroma. It had a creamy feel on the palate. The flavor was smoky with caramel notes. I found it a nice brew to consume.

A good easy drinkin everyday beer. While this isnt going to be a beer you are goin to drink when you really want something to excite your palate, but this is still a good beer to throw back when you want something simple and tasty after work.

Going into the glass the appearance is of a dark murky tea. Only a small amount of foam. Aroma is of corn and raisens. In the mouth the beer feels like the carbonation is pretty high considering the lack of head. I expected more bitter tastes in this one but there is only a hint of it. There are more sweet malts than bitterness. It seemed to get sweeter as the glass emptied. I liked this beer and found it fairly complex but consistent. It was also refreshing.

I always stand at the beer store for 15 minutes trying to avoid run of the mill stuff, but sometimes Im just not adventurous enough to try the 300 different beers from India they offer. So, I was like, well, it’s about time. After all, the Wee Heavy I remember being decent. This pours a murky poo brown like newcastle. I can already smell that aroma that always reminds me of stale water, but I dived in anyways. Surprisingly it was rather smooth and refreshing. Lots of caramelo malts, but not overtly sweet and some rustic worn leather softener. very faint hops, and peat shines through more the longer you let it sit on the ol tounge. a bit of prune in there too? very creamy aftertaste. Why does it say bitter up top?

Clear reddish-brown color with a thin off-white head. Sweet caramel malt and peat aroma. Chocolate and caramel flavor with hints of peat.
