From Bottle

Poured dark amber, Nice thick off-white head. Aroma was malty and sweet. Flavor again sweet, sugary, bready, and I picked up fruity hints (Apple?). Good carbonation, light bodied, smooth and easy to drink. Wasn’t aware it was only 3.9% abv. I also thought this was a scotch ale, only to find out just now that it’s a bitter. This would make the perfect session beer. No overpowering flavors or aromas.

Wow! Great beer! Poured with a nice head, though that didn’t last long. Just a little and a wee bit o’ lace at the bottom a me glass. Lovely dark amber color. Fabulous aromatic nose of peat, malt, alcohol. Great flavor more of the same! Had this one from a beer of the month club bottle.

Poured from 440ml can. Generous, foamy/creamy head. Pretty reddish color. Smells like cream. Smooth, milky taste, light bitterness of toffee or coffee or something like that. Very pleasant, very drinkable. Could benefit from a fuller flavor.

I am tired of companies naming their bitter a Scotch Ale. This is just a below-average beer in disguise. Pours dark amber with no head. Has the aroma of smoked malts and caramel, but that’s it. Taste is flat, rotten, and above all, weak. Its also expensive. Avoid.

Transparent amber-colored pour that offers a sweet, smokey bouquet. Palate is smooth and creamy. Flavor is crisp, medium hopped and finishes with a smokey character. Eminently drinkable and enjoyable, if marred a bit in the awkward finish.

Disappointing in every aspect, I really do hate this kind of flavour, bitter but at the same time sweet in a strange way. Just my five cents.

Excelent flavored Ale. With a ritch white head that last a bit adding to the flavor. Creamy brown color with a smoth taste. One of my all time ales.
