Pint on nitro - Mild aroma of toasted malts and toffee. Pours transparent brown with a medium lasting nitro head. Flavor is malty, sweet toffee and caramel with a touch of nutiness. Palate is creamy and smooth. Nothing to get excited about, but tasty enough to go well with my meal.

bottled-Awfully light for a scottish ale. There was barley any smokey taste to it. It was malty, but the hops where weak too.

500ml. bottle. Clear dark amber color with a small off white head and floaters. Mild smoky, malty aroma and flavor. Kind of a watered down version of their Wee Heavy.

Bottle. Clear amber, white head. Aroma is pine, caramel and molasses. Flavor is strong pine, but I don’t detect any of the complexity that I expected from the aroma.

initial hop tang gives way to a big, dry, malty (what motelpogo would call "dogfood") flavour, but - and this is the strange thing - with all the malt flavour there's no sweetness or thickness at all, it's all contained in a watery, drinkable package. very dry, spicy, peaty, malty finish. classy. lots of flavour for a sub-4%er.
