| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 21, 2003 Light mahogany in color. Thin but lingering head. Some spots of lace. Earthy nose with some vinous notes. Light front. The same surgical gauze/alcohol overtones I taste (but others don't) in many Scottish ales. Some roasted coffee notes. A bit watery and thin on flavor. Quick finish with just a touch of bitterness. rustychiles (1071), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Pours a creamy nitro foamy white color that slowly fades to a translucent reddish brown color. Aroma of caramel, malt, grains, fruit. Flavor is fruit, caramel, malt sweetness and some bitterness at the finish. desurfer (1069), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA

Nice amber color though. There is actually hardly any flavor at all, it goes down like water with a slight malty finish. I guess the nitrogen ruined it. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 13, 2004 12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date seen anywhere.
Poured out a murky, slightly chill hazed brown color, with a minimal light brown head. It was a sticky head, however. It left a decent lacing down the sides of my pint glass. Aromas are of sweet malts, and that’s about it. No hops aromas, no smokiness, no nothing. Tastes are rather plain, with malts being the dominate flavor. No hops bitterness either. Thin mouthfeel, and minimal aftertaste. Good enough to try once, but not good enough to buy again. jb (1063), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 14, 2009 18 oz can at Dick’s in Excalibur, in Las Vegas. Very nice looking, amber, thick head with the thickest largest lacing I’ve seen. Strong palate of sugar daddy. While drinking this, the bartender said it was water show time, and to classical music mocked the Bellagio by creating a water show with his mixer. He was soaked and got us a bit wet. Nice beer and nice memory. Stew41 (1059), Caulfield, Australia
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 30, 2005 Quite dark (brown) and cloudy for a bitter. Nose has a big lift, I can smell scotch ale characters from 2 feet away. More sweet malts evident up close. Unfortunately a little more subdued in the mouth and much more varietal. Fizzy, maltly notes with some hops evident, and finishes clean with good bitterness. Perhaps a touch subtle but nice enough. alobar (1056), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
