Pours amber red with a nice, super creamy pink head . Head consistency reminds me of Boddingtons. Flavor is oak, liquid smoke, caramel, apples(?). Incredibly smooth and creamy texture without being too thick, again like Boddingtons. Finishes with that smoky oak flavor. Seriously, this beer feels great.
Bottle re-review. Pours an absolutely beautiful wildflower honey amber with a decent, albeit soapy white head. Clear as crystal, lots of carbonation. Aroma of pear skin. Slightly bitter aroma; dandelion? Maybe. Flavor is malty...rich toffee malt, with contrasts the lighter feel. Just the slightest bit of cocoa bitterness. Finishes nutty, like a walnut or hazelnut right out of the shell. Like when you get a bit of that inner shell in you walnut; that kind of chalky bitterness. Not as smooth and creamy as I remember. Probably has to do with it being on tap before. These beers from the isles always have a great feel...on tap. Otherwise it seems like you need a widget. IT that what this one is missing? Maybe. Still a fantastic beer. kimcgolf (835), Dacula, Georgia, USA

Drank with a plate of hot wings, so admittedly some of the senses were alittle dulled, but for a low alcohol beer, this was very tasty and drinkable. Had a good finish that was still evident despite the food spices. RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 11, 2008 Aroma is a mild sweet malt scent. Color is a golden amber with good carbonation and a thick tall head. Taste is smooth and clean. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a very smooth feel that has just a slight crispness on the tail. Finish comes though with a mellow malt and toasted caramel almost nutty flavor then just a hint of bitterness. After taste is clean with the bitterness coming up a bit. Overall I think its a very tasty brew, may be a bit light for a Scottish Ale. missing (72), Wichita, Kansas, USA

Somewhat chewy with a definite biscuit flavor. Light roasted notes with a hint of molasses. This would make a great winter warmer. In fact, I think I will have another. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 2, 2007 Had someone who was 21 buy me a sixer. Almond colour body with a nice, fine off-white head. Sweet and smoky on the nose. Like drinking a glass of earth, and oh does earth taste good. Peat and caramel dominate the taste, aided by some malt and light hops in the background. Very easy to drink, as it finishes dry.
