Lovely brown color. Extremely malty and satisfying. Scotch ales are really growing on me.

Medium brown color, clear, nice but small head, high carbonation. Very malty aroma. Flavor didnít develop fully until it warmed up some, and was predominantly malt with low bitterness, but carbonation kept it from being too sweet. Very clean finish. This was an old bottle, but it made a good enough impression that Iíll definitely try it again.

Personally I like Scottish Ales, and this isnít a bad example of the style, so I canít give it a bad rating.

Lovely scotch-amber hue with a fine head that dissipates quickly. I am inclined to think this beer was in the bottle too long as a skunky aroma is present, though when tipping the glass and sniffing closely, a scotch malting is present. This skunkiness is present in the flavor, giving way to a maltier taste as the beer warms, albeit one that fades fast. I was extremely dissapointed in this beer. The smell almost destroys the beer--though the experience betters as the beer warms. Will have to try again.

I was slightly disapointed with this one, too light and wussy to be from scotland. However, i did enjoy it throughly and liked the clear clean flavors

Initial strong smokey flavor almost turned me completely off, but beer finished nicely. McEwans much better.
