Great beer! Especially when from a nitrogen tap in a pub. Great creamy head, extremely smooth, well balanced. The next time you see this, try it instead of a guiness.

Horrible... heavy vinegar taste. After reading all the other reviews, I hope it was just a bad keg at the local pub.

Solid, well balanced ale. It has a nutty characteristic that I liked. Its full bodied and generally very good.

This brew has strong caramel flavor with a hint of mocha. Finishes well but lacks kick. Overall an enjoyable beer that compliments most food very well.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Such a nice dark reddy-brown color. The aroma was not very strong but their was a definite butterscotch aroma. The butterscotch was noted in the taste as well alongside a big malty feel. The beer was very, very thin towards the finish and I had thought that it would be much thicker, oh well. The finish seemed somewhat watered down and filtered and that as a dissapointment. Itís still good, but it has some things to work on.

Typical Nitrogen charged widget can of beer. Itís okay as a Scottish beer (itís a little low flavor-wise for that...) and is definitely better than many of the offerings made in the States (Well, I will admit that itís not at all hard to do that!). For the person wanting to try something a little different itís worth the effort and Iíd buy it again (but itís lower on my list- Iím still going about trying new beers... Got a Zhiguly and a few others to give a whirl yet... :-)

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Winey aroma & chestnut colour. Slight nutty flavour, not bitter but watery. Good session beer but too light for me.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice beer, a lot like Caffreyís or John Smithís in a can. While it is a little bit weak, itís still tasty. Nice to linger over a can or two during a movie or a ballgame.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
slightly thicker and a little more flavorful than boddingtons. More on the sweet malt side, low hops. Very thin finnish as with most widgets.

Nice creamy head - good color - but nothing great about this beer.
