A very nice smoky ale. Aroma is a mild hop and malt balance. Appearance is a distinct reddish golden color, deep. The taste is medium hoppiness with a distinct smoked malt flavor. A very pleasant ale.

11.2 oz bottle from The Caboose in Ashland, VA The ale poured a clear reddish amber color with an off-white head and lacing. A good looking ale. Not much on the nose maybe some sweet bready aroma from the malt. I do not detect much in the bitterness area. This ale has a medium body ale with soft carbonation. There was a sweetish-malty finish with nuttiness at the end.

Bottle at ATR Bethesda. Nice amber body with big head. Nose of malts, caramel, some fruity notes. Taste quite bitter, with hops and some caramel. Nice bitter finish.

Very small aroma. In my opinion, it should be stronger. Some nuts, maybe some fruits like grapefruit. Red, clear, minimal Bitter - medium Quite fizzy and abrupt. I like it, but it is not that much interesting to love it.

A fine aroma of malt, fruit/floral and especially nuts. Light red color, clear liquid. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Typical carbonation for the style, creamy texture. To much nut aroma and taste in my opinion.

It is a somewhat mild Scottish ale, but it certainly has great values. It smells a little smoky, warm malty and slightly fruity. All these odors reflected again in taste and I could drink it in buckets and hours; I think!

Pours dark amber to brown with an orange hue and a thick off-white head. Lots of lacing on the glass. The aroma is heavy malty with caramel, toffee, fruity, a bit hoppy. The taste is dry, medium bitterness, lightly acidic

Not its biggest fan, picked up a couple of bottles from B and M of the 5.2% if it hadn’t been for this I don’t think there would be much flavour. What there was a bit nutty but left a bad taste. Will avoid in future.
