Malty and hoppy, we at Belhaven love the classic Scottish Ale and we’ve been brewing it longer than any of the other beers we produce. Delivering a sweet, smooth and creamy finish, Scottish Ale has a stunning ruby colour in the glass. Magic.

330ml bottle into pint glass. 5.2%. Very faint malt nose. Copper coloured beer with two finger white head. Medium carbonation. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. A little zingy. A touch of alcohol in the abrupt finish but otherwise super easy drinking. Sweet grainy malty nectar.

First of this style, so not much to compare against. Pours a dark copper from a bottle. Fruity aroma, although I swear when I opened the bottle it kind of smelled like a dog fart. And I don’t have a dog. And I didn’t fart. Just sayin’. Sweet cookie like flavor, big effervescence like a soda. Good beer.

Lovely sweet stout flavour for me. Mm fruity malty and dear area sugar in mouth. For me a lot better than weaker version. Extremely enjoyable and almost got five for palate and that would’ve boosted score . Rich and nutty indeed.bottle poured into bishops finger goblet.

From Carrefour Huelva. In Teku glass. Playing Millenium 2. Smells like a cheap industrial. Tastes a bit sour, like if contamined.

Rich malty and earthy aromas come from this clear Amber red brew with virtually no head. The flavor is very sweet with a slight bitter earthy flavor turning into a slight buttery or toffee flavor into the aftertaste. This medium booed brew screams Scotland and is a decent buy.

nitro can. Reddish clear. Malty, smooth red old leafy nose. Med bodied, soft, bit creamy. Bit weakly flavoured, red berry malty. Dunno, feels too drinkable.

Pours a very pretty clear copper color. One to two fingers beige head. Good lacing, good retention.

Aroma is very malty but not so biscuity. Pretty nutty nose. Also there’s some sort of fruit, or maybe it’s floral hops.

Taste is a little bland. Sweet and malty, like in the marzen category. But then it’s just nutty enough to observe the nuttiness. It is very smooth. Well balanced, it seems like it should be a little bitter, but it’s not.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied. There’s a soft carbonation that I find interesting. Very smooth and balanced. Easy drinking, but I dunno about how sessionable it would be.

Overall, I like it. It’s not amazing. One to enjoy while winding down. Maybe a touch more carbonation would be good. I’d drink it, buy it again.

Draft pint at Cicero’s, served on nitro gas. On nitro, guys!!! Absolutely gorgeous appearance: crystal-clear reddish amber with compact, sudsy peach foam, everlasting with nice lacing left behind. Low but pleasant aroma, fuller flavour, both aroma and flavour dominated by complex malt sweetness, just a faint bitter balance of Fuggly UK type hops (earthy, floral). Grainy, biscuity, bready, caramel, toffee, molasses. Ripe fruit esters, hint of black pepper phenol. Low carbonation. Smooth, smooth, smooth mouthfeel, medium-full bodied and round, super malty but finishes surprisingly dry. No harshness nor heat hor astringency whatsoever, smooth as can be to the very end. Delicious.

Bottle from Market Street Wine Shop Downtown. Pours clear brown with a small off-white head. Smells of wet dog, glue, caramel malts. Taste is roasted nuts, caramel, light raisin. OK, but not creative.
