Malty and hoppy, we at Belhaven love the classic Scottish Ale and we’ve been brewing it longer than any of the other beers we produce. Delivering a sweet, smooth and creamy finish, Scottish Ale has a stunning ruby colour in the glass. Magic.

Pours dark coppery brown with a thick pale buff head. Malty aroma has a fruity note that is mainly apple and a hint of caramel. Flavor is boldly fruity and malty, dragging along a bit of caramel and a hint of horehound. Texture presents OK body and average fizz. Grab yer kilt and enjoy a bonnie glass!

Fra flaske drukket i ølglass. Flott Cognac farge. Rund og god i munnen. Vel balansert bitterhet.

Poured from nitro can thanks Willrunforbeer. Dark caramel pour with a foamy white lingering uead. Aromas of plum raisin and caramel. Taste is somewhat flat with notes of sweet malt stone fruit and caramel. Not the best.

440 ml Nitro can. Amber color with lasting cascading head as it is poured. Doesn’t really have an aroma; old malts.

Well the nice thing it has going for it is the smooth creamy texture. Other then that, not much here in terms of flavor. Weak toffee, light grain, weak bitterness in a very thin body.

440mL nitro can. Time to finish my styles. Pours brown gold with an off white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, fruity esters. Flavor is much the same. Very sweet and creamy.

Pours a light brown caramel color with very thin head. Not much to say about this. Aroma was OK but nothing special. Body was thin and watery. Taste was sort of blah. It wasn’t horrible but not good enough to stand out in any way. Very ordinary.

Bottle into a pint glass. pours a reddish brown, with a very small khaki head that rapidly fades. Nose is caramel and malt. Taste is malty, slightly sweet, with an odd metallic finish. Average at best.

Now available in the UK, bottled as part of GK’s crafty range. Deep reddish brown with a thin head, dark invert sugar on the nose, plus a faint metallic musty note. Sweet and lightly roasty, with burnt sugar.
