Butelka 0.5L.

Aroma of roast malt pretty strong here, and has some dark chocolate. Average carbonation. Pours black with ok head and lacing. Finishes a little bitter. Tap at Brixton.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe, shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours dark brown, near black, thin beige head. Aromas are milk chocolate and... well... nothing else. Taste has a nuttiness, but mostly chocolate. Lacks roastiness and depth for a 7%er. OK.

33cl bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black olive, nice creamy head. Nose - milk chocolate develops as the head dissipates. Taste - good chocolate and hazelenut note. Appearance - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long elegant finish. Overall - this improved the further I took it. Not the 7% it’s suppsed to be.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein schwarzes Bier mit schöner bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Schokolade. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig, angenehm cremig, schokoladig, eridig.

I was a bit disappointed by this stout, but perhaps I need to give it another try. Pours a very, very dark brown (essentially black) with a thin, bubbly brown head that dissipates very quickly. Complex malt aromas, but difficult to differentiate between the individual directions. Fair amount of CO2, but a somewhat weak body. Unfortunately the alcohol aftertaste is a bit overpowering.

Solid stout. Thin mouthfeel, coffee and malt flavor with some cocoa. Not much carbonation. Very smooth.

500 ml bottle bought at Aeon in KCP, Kowloon City.

Clear, deep Cola blackish brown colour; Half finger head and beige foam which last for 1 minute; small sticky lacing and active carbonation; Sweet aroma of roasted malt, with milk chocolate, very light coffee, sugar, caramel, double cream, light plum and light grass; Pleasant, strong sweet taste of rich dark roast malt, with light metallic, strong liquorices, sugar, milk chocolate, creamed coffee, nuts, light sour notes, light lemon and grassy hops; Mid to light body, quite slick and slightly creamy palate; Mouth feel is rich, nutty, and quite savory dark roasted malt, accompanied by very sweet, herbal and strong liquorices, which gives out a feel of sweetened iced coffee. This is fun! Hoppiness is light grassy nose; light lemon and grass in taste which is not enough to balance the liquorices. Full-on sweet-bitter finish; Slightly dry after taste, Quite easy and very sweet to mouth.

Comments: This stout has a simple but solid foundation - very rich and roasty malt, presentable chocolaty and creamy aroma, and well-hidden strong booze - but that herbal liquorices sweetness is really strong and can be overbearing for some, and if there’s more hops to balance it out, this would be close to perfect. A solid one to enjoy if you have sweet teeth!
