Bottle, bought @ Gammel Strand, Cph.
Pours almost black, light nutty-brown edges. Really impressive, creamy, cappucino head. Aroma is roasted, chocolate, some prunes and nuts. Low carbonation, great creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is wonderfully milky chocolate sweet, some hard roasetd malts, vanilla and slight coffee notes. Very, very drinkable stout.

Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a smallish, but creamy, stringy-lacing light tan head. Aroma of rich sweet toasty caramel and chocolate malts with some light peatiness. Starts with good fullness and lots of malty sweetness well balanced with some complex mild smoky peat before a lingering dark chocolatey finish. A very nice sweet stout.

Very very dark mahogany color with a large tan head. Great retention and lacing. Nutty cocoa aroma with accents of light peat and some sweetened coffee. Nice black malt flavor, notes of coffee beans and dark chocolate. A bit of caramel sweetness along with a slight acidity. Body is nice and full yet airy. Carbonation is a little too high. Very drinkable and tasty.

Bottle at home ... That i thankfully talked one of the organisers of Heriot Watt beer festival out off ... deep black creamy tan head ... dry odd chocolate malt ... deep malts ... some roast ... little milk sugers ... ok ... but lacking something

I like this stout it has good rich malt flavor and is pleasant to drink , but has too much alcohol for its own good. Its too simple in its flavor profile to have 7 percent! Sorry. However a tasty beer nevertheless.

Sampled this new stout at the Paisley Beer Festival in May 2009. Pulled from the cask by handpump. Dull jet black in colour with mahogany around the edges in bright light. Thin creamy white head which quickly disappeared to leave no trace of lacing at all. Mix of aromas, with roast malt, toffee, bitter chocolate and a hint of vanilla pod. Smooth, smooth mouthfeel with an almost milky like texture. Dark malt complexes give a rich overall sweet flavour in the mouth. Treacle toffee, dark chocolate, overipe figs, maple syrup and American cream soda. A vague hint of toasted hops makes a really brief appearance and then its back to normal service with a creamy sweet finish. Does not have that warming alcoholic kick you get from strong Imperial Russian Stouts. Is this stout really only 7%? The ABV is well disguised. Highly recommended and another belter from the Belhaven portfolio.
