Bottle shared at the Kernel tap room, London, thanks to Ben. It pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head. Aroma is lightly roasted, with notes of dark chocolate, dried fruits and espresso. Taste is medium sweet and lightly roasty with notes of wood, ashes, light booze, chocolate. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, tasty

Pours black as a starless night. World Class head volume, outstanding lacing and retention. Light nose of roast and chocolate over a slight mineral note. Heavy light body with just a hint of smooth texture. Above average carbonation level with a bit of effervescence in the middle and finish. The outstanding flavor profile is reasonably intense, a bit complex and very well balanced. It begins with chocolate sweetness which is a blend of bittersweet dark and milk characteristics. The middle has a very subtle bitterness from roast and hops over a distinct classic mineral note (think chocolate soda). The finish is a slow fade of rich sweet chocolate with hints of vanilla. This is an excellent choice to introduce someone to stouts.

500ml bottle. Very dark brown color. Small size, brown head, stays. Sweet, roast, bit metallic notes in aroma. Sweet, mild roast, mild hops in taste. Dry mouthfeel. Dry papery spicy hops in aftertaste. Quite decent.

50 cl in pint. Pours a nice, abundant beige/grey head, dense and bubbly; deep black colour. Smells straightaway very chocolatey, toffee, roasted, slighlty smokey. Taste goes on a folowing level: again very chcolate/cocoa, very nice malty, roasted, hints of vanilla, not too much harsh coffee soy notes which often ruin evreything. The sweetness is outstanding, and the bitter notes just there to balance it. Right medium carbonation, medium bodied, silky texture, great drinkability, you wouldnít tell thatís 7%vol. Tried this 3 times during this year, and itís not a coincidence: itís a great and solid brew. Highly reccomended, even if you donít like stouts

A fine tasting stout. A little bit of smokey nose, but pretty mild there. Nice head - not artificially permanent. I like the also quite smokey taste up front with plenty of bitterness and a very dry finish

"iím going to go against the grain a bit, at least on this site, and score the feel a touch higher than the rest. for a regular stout (not a big cewy imperial) i thought the mouthfeel was superb. creamy and smooth, and just enough abv to notice without any heat. reminded me of a samuel smiths oatmeal/imperial hybrid in itís roasty chocolate goodness, both in flavor and aroma, and in the body. a touch of smoke on the back end of the flavor. iíll definitely revisit."

Helt sort med et beige skum, skummet varte til glasset var tomt. Aroma av rÝstet malt, kaffe, sjokolade og moden frukt. Smaken fÝlger aroma med en lang fin ettersmak og en lett bitterhet i avsluttningen.

From a can. Pours black as night and makes a creamy tan head. Smells of chocolate and malts. Tastes of complex hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
