Pint bottle- poured out an inky black with a strong wheat head. Aroma was full malt with light chocolate undertones. Taste was excellent, coffee, chocolate and malt. Suffers from a palate that was pretty thin for a stout, even if very smooth. Nice finish, with an alcohol kick. Overall, very good to excellent.

500ml clear(!) bottle served in a Belgian snifter. A: Pours with a dark tan head over a pitch black, opaque body. The head slowly fades to a light covering and ring, leaving Aroma: Medium and dark roasted malts with some raisins, other dark dried fruits, toffee and chocolate. Sweet and inviting. T: Lots of dark malt flavors with a strong suggestion of dark chocolate. Starts sweet and is very mildly bitter by the mid-aftertaste. A little dark sweet fruit flavor with a faint touch of smoke and peat. . M: Full and somewhat thick but not syrupy; Smooth; Medium carbonation is a bit lively for the style. O: Exceptional and highly recommended. Well hidden 7% ABV. Don’t drink this too cold.

Cold, black beer pouring with a lofty, creamy beige head. Aroma of.dark roasted malt, almost burnt. Flavor is rich, toasted, slightly burnt malt. Finish is a little creamy and burnt. The beer gets creamier and mellower quickly.

I can’t imagine how this beer got the ratings it has. Upon pouring, it anointed me with an essence not unlike a cheap, skunky lager with notes of dirt and sweaty socks. The eau de skunk faded some, but lifted its tail again in the aftertaste. The flavor profile is relatively simple, mild, light malts, but that Pepé Le Pew scampers across the palate close on the heels of the malt and makes me think I’m drinking a damn Michelob Dark. Hops come through slightly in the aftertaste. Fairly light-bodied for a stout. Moderate carbonation. Hopefully this is just a poor, abused beer that some fool ruined by storing it in a clear glass bottle, but I won’t be drinking anymore. Blech!

Brown pour with tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and light butter. Light sweet malt start with a hinto coffee and chocolate. Earthy tones and a light malt bitter. Not a bad beer. A hinto warmth and pretty good carbonation as well.

500 ml bottle. Nice small off white layer. Dark brown amber color. Not too carbonated. Aroma is cloves, cookies, prune, earth, malt etc. Taste of cookies, malt. Feels creamy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPad

Decent aroma. Dark with a head the has moderate body and clings to the side. Lively chocolate and coffee taste. Delightful brew.

Decent. First whiff indicated some skunkiness due to a clear bottle. In fact, I almost expected it. This went away, however. What remained was a mild roasted malt essence. The color was very dark with a mild head that didn’t last. Lighter that most stouts but creamy as well. Roasted malts are the upfront flavor with some coffee and maybe a little hops. Easy to drink and worth a second trip.

Stupid clear bottle. Light skunk, molasses, and horehound aroma. Deep mahogany with a large tan head. Sweet sugary mocha and molasses flavor. Too sweet for my taste. Body on the light side of medium, soft carbonation.

A very good stout. Quite light in texture and a little sweet, tasting of coffee, chocolate, malt.
