Pint bottle- poured out an inky black with a strong wheat head. Aroma was full malt with light chocolate undertones. Taste was excellent, coffee, chocolate and malt. Suffers from a palate that was pretty thin for a stout, even if very smooth. Nice finish, with an alcohol kick. Overall, very good to excellent.

DWF; Bottle 500ml. Pours moderate black with a creamy, moderate lasting and lacing tan head. Nose is moderate, roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and light dark fruit. Taste is moderate sweet and light bitter with a somewhat lasting dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

(500ml bottle, Beijing) Appearance: Very dark, almost opaque black. medium chocolate brown head. Foam does dissipate pretty quickly with some leftover, oily clinging to the glass. Aroma: average nose for such a dark beer. Notes of coffee, chocolate, dried fruit, rich malt, cola, toast. Taste: very rich and bold upfront. Creamy, unsweetened dark chocolate, roasted malty with a fair amount of hoppy bitterness. First sweet/fruity, raisins, chocolate, burnt toast, then some dryness on the follow thru. Palate: Fresh and sparkly upfront that quickly becomes oily, syrupy, and moderately dry on the finish. Overall: A very hearty beer that you can chew on, and you don’t much notice the 7% ABC. I’m not a regular stout person but this seems pretty solid with strong maltiness complexity and a good amount of bitter hops. Quite rich and a bit sweet, so couldn’t drink more than one or two. High points: Surge of flavor with each mouthful. Low points: Some might think too sweet/syrupy.

Bottle at Easter from Lidl. Thick-collared glossy mahogany appearing pitch. Smoky black coffee, raisin and burnt black bread sprinkled with rust aroma. Ashy and attractively burnt with more black coffee and cocoa powder on the palate. Excellent: better than any £1.19 bottle from Lidl has any right to be.

500 ml bottle. Pours a translucent dark brown color with a decent Rocky tan head. Malty nose has notes of roasted grain, caramel, dark fruit and oats. Bittersweet roasted malt flavor upfront. Notes of chocolate, raisins and burnt caramel. Nutty and dark fruit notes in mid taste. Cloying herbal hop finish. This is a nice version of a sweet stout. Complex and full bodied with a licorice aftertaste.

Fin mørk stout. En rigtig nyde øl - men nyd kun en, den første smager klart bedst.God humlesmag.

Definitely not what i want in a stout. An unpleasant funk in the taste but when more so in the nose. Aroma reminded me of dirty gym socks. Body want think our creamy like i prefer in my stouts. Not something I want to experience again.

A dark brown to black coloured beer with a frothy but weak tan coloured head. A light roasted malt aroma, roasted nuts, coffee bean, black bread and a hint of dark chocolate. Dry mouthfeel. A bittersweet taste, burnt malt flavours, coffee, dark caramel, roasted nuts and dark chocolate, there is an element of sour hop in the background. The finish is bittersweet and has all the elements from the taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shared with David Pole from clear pint bottle into snifters. It poured a near-opaque dark brown colour with thin but persistent light brown foam. Toasty, no harsh roasty notes. Somewhat reminiscent of a Belgian Dubbel: toffee, burnt sugar, and rich caramel sweetness, rum, some dark fruit notes like tart cherries, ripe raspberries, raisins. Medium body and carbonation, warming but otherwise well-concealed alcohol. Smoother and sweeter than a traditional stout, blending some caramelly Scotch ale traits as predicted.

Had this in Beerville, Belgrade. Ashy (smoke), dry, chocolate, roasty. Surprisingly quite good all in all.
